Finally..... The long awaited pairing of Reba & Kid Rock! ;)

Are any of you going to watch this on SPEED 9:00-12:00pm/et? I always watch as I'm in the need of some kind of NASCAR fix.

The informal onstage appearance was better. We got to see the drivers messing around with each other. I'm not sure if it will be part part of the awards broadcast or not.

Maybe we can have "Lullabies with the Busch Brothers" as a mid show interlude.

I gave up on this ceremony years ago. And it's funny, the complaints from this forum about how bad the ceremony is, and a year goes by.....and y'all still watch.

I don't watch it, to boring.

Agreed, all Awards Banquets and ceremonies are boring. Which is why the last time I attended a graduation ceremony, I brought a pen and pad of papers so I could doodle while they carried on with the ceremony.

I always record it so that I can skip past the stuff I don't wanna see.

But there have been some great moments too! The year that Dale Jarrett won his only crown, 1999, I believe, he was quite funny and entertaining.

And the year that Tony won, and removed his jacket to reveal the head restraint system NASCAR had mandated, was quite funny too!

Agreed.Too boring too scripted. Their PR flacks wrote those words weeks ago and the drivers don't have the ability to read them like they mean them.

Remember the time Kyle Busch forgot his date "GIRL FRIENDS" NAME

All the comedians and mumbo jumbo has killed the awards ceremony....

I liked it when Jay Mohr was doing the show but he actually knew something about the sport. When they had Frank Caliendo do it the one year is when i quit watching. You could tell he had no idea what NASCAR even was and wasn't quite sure himself why he was there. I like stand up comics though i guess i can see where everyone might not be to crazy about them at the awards show. Better than watching 10 drones walk to the podium and sit down all night.

I like kyles line to jimmy in that video...."I'm sure it wont be your last" guess we can blame the 5 in a row on kyle if you really wanted to stretch it LMAO

I haven't watched it since it became a made for TV circus. The old days when ESPN reported from the balcony was best, though we would miss some of the good stuff during commercials. Ah the good old days...

What month and what day.

I use to watch it more when it was in NY ...

It's really boring to me but I like to see the drivers on stage.

Graduation ceremonies are actually annoying.

"Please hold your applause until the end", I don't know why they bother saying this.

I actually enjoyed it until they tried to make it "television friendly". They did some neat things in New York. They should have the Awards Ceremony at the Hall of Fame in Charlotte.

I like watching the banquet. It's just another chance to see the best in our sport and get their thoughts.

It's just like the White House Correspondents' Dinner. That's a huge deal in Washington and, if you're invited to go, it's a huge deal. Washington treats it the same way Vegas treats the NASCAR Awards Ceremony -- the media talks about it for weeks because it's big for them. But, outside the Beltway, nobody cares about it. The NASCAR ceremony in Vegas is the same way, and that's why it should be in Charlotte. It's only a few years before Las Vegas gets fed up with the whole song and dance the same way New York did.

Gotta love your constant positive outlook on life. :sarcasm:

My take is this... all the drivers think of Charlotte as their back yard. Vegas is something different, something exciting. Lots to do in Vegas. All the teams have already seen and done everything there is to see and do in Charlotte a million times.

What could it possibly matter where the event is held to the viewing audience? It wouldn't change a thing about it's appearance on TV. As far as the participants go, I can't say that I've heard any of them say that they think that it should be moved back to New York, to Charlotte, or anywhere else. They seem to like it's current venue. It also allows more fans access to the festivities. As far as the excitement level goes. It is what it is, a banquet.

I watched it once and never again, so they could hold it in Brian France's basement and show crews replacing SAFER barriers for all I care. When is Daytona?

Sprint/NASCAR check to Tony Stewart for title: $5,792,800.

Not a bad chunk of change for a 10 race season. ;)

I'm taking that as a Sarcastic remark?

Me too . I think that Tony and Darien had a much harder time during the season when they wern't winning than they did when they lucked into a set up that put them onto some wins.To say they ran a ten race season discounts all the work they put into getting there.

I watch the ceremony simply because I like seeing the guys dressed up and maybe having a little fun. And let's keep in mind, Las Vegas is far and away more fan-friendly than New York ever was. Shoot, the banquet in NYC wasn't even team-friendly because the ballroom was too small to accommodate all of them.

And, this is really for the sponsors, don't you know. LOL

I do agree that the TV presentation is somewhat boring. I could do without the fluff at the beginning, but watching people eat is boring, also. Maybe, TV just ought to tape, edit, then show only the drivers giving their speeches.

I always watch to see what my favorites have to say...luckily all the guys I like were at the "back" of the top 10...I was able to see them and go to bed much earlier!

Nice looking girl with Jr.

Jr. also done well with his speech. :)

I thought Dr. Edwards with Carl looked pretty darn good.

To me, it looked the girl Dale Jr was with seemed unhappy and not wanting to be there.

Jr said she doesn't like these kinds of things. She even skips the pre-race ceramony when she's at the track. I read somewhere that she was already married when they met. I don't know if it's true.

I enjoyed watching the Banquet. Sucks that so many of you don't care. To each his own I guess.

I laughed when they announced Tony for the head table and Jimmy came walking out. Kinda addressing the elephant in the room early lol.
