2012 Season Predictions?

When I look at the 2011 results I see a lot of good drivers that had bad years. That certainly doesn't mean next season will be the same, but it could. For sure anyone in the top 18 can challenge for the Chase next year. Except Kurt Busch of course, who knows if he will even race. How about Logano in 24th? Never thought I would see him that low in the points as young as he is, but I'm good with it. I expect he will do better next year. Jamie McMurray 27th! He should be better than that by a lot.

Now to the potential Champs...

Never count out Jimmie. I'd love to call him 6-time a year from now.

Tony: As much as I'd love to see him kick ass next year I doubt it will happen. Just a gut feeling. I hope I am wrong.

Carl: Hard to predict what he will do. He Admitted he learned a lot this year but did he learn the right lessons? Will he continue to "ride around" or will he go for wins? I'd like to see him go for wins even though I am not a fan of his (much respect though).

Kevin: Would LOVE to see him win a Championship and he's good enough to do it, just don't think he is hungry enough.

Matt: Had a great year and is a contender for sure.

Brad: Great year, lots of fans love him, could be the next sliced bread (Logano). Or he could just fizzle out like Hamlin did this year.

Jr.: I'm a Jr fan and I don't know what to expect out of him. Would love to see him in Victory Lane a few times but he has to make it happen. Been a long time since he has.

Jeff Gordon: Top 15 next year for sure, maybe top 10.

Hamlin: Not sure what to think. An awesome 2010 followed by a sub-par 2011. Top 15 but not a Championship contender.

Newman: Cool guy, wish him the best. Top 15 again but no media attention again.

Kurt: RIP

Kyle: I have no friggen idea! Could win, could crash in every race! Thought he would be MUCH higher than 12th this season. Even without being parked for a race he still would have finished behind Jr.

That takes care of the Chasers.

How do you see next season?

Good list. On a side note....

I think the next announcement we hear from the Harvicks is that their first baby will be due just after next season ends.

With no sponsor, Matt is getting used cars all year long. Shame. I hope he nails down a full sponsor.

Brad is already beyond the next Logona. That's a terrible thing to wish on anyone. IMO, Joey was so sheltered as kid, he's now a millionair and living out the childhood he missed. He'll get focused on his career, but he better do it soon.

Kurt will run a part time schedule for a 2nd tier team, and have fun doing some things outside nascar before he returns in 2013.

Kyle: I don't want to hear a single mention of the new Kyle ever again. When the old Kyle is dead, we'll figure it out ourselves.

I just don't see other drivers, or if they have a good driver I don't see the team being there with them. Which is why I left out a guy like Boywer I don't think MWR is strong enough.
 
And now to prove MY level of idiocy...

In 2010, I predicted that Kyle Bush would win the Championship. Didn't happen...

In 2011 I predicted that Pee Wee would learn from his disasterous Chase experience in 2010, and win the Championship. Not so much...

But I am gonna ride this pony till it drops.

PEE WEE will be Champion in 2012!!!

My prediction: Johnson will come back stronger than ever and take Champion number 6.
 
We will have a first time champ 2012
 
Well as far as 2012, IMO I think:

Johnson & Knaus will come into the season very determined and be strong contenders for number 6... (Not being at the head table this season after a 5 year run hurt, he'll be ready when Daytona rolls around)

Kahne will win at least 1 race, probably early in the season... (He won driving for Red Bull, he'll want to impress his new boss right away I think)

Kyle Busch will contend for the title... (what happened at the end of last season may have finally dug some of that dried poop out of the way so the rest of the baby$h!t could slide out and allow him to think about the long term season goal maturely, clearly, & with championship focus)

My driver Dale Jr will remain winless... (nothing will have changed during the offseason, his focus will now be on Danica ensuring that she gets the best car on track every week & helping him win his 10th str8 MPDA)

Matt Crafton will finaly win the NCTS title... (it's his time, he's gotta get it this season)

Austin Dillon will win the Busch series title as a rookie... (he had pretty good runs last year & being out there full time in the best equipment without having to worry about Cup series Buschwackers stealing points every weekend is a very comforting thought)

Stewart will push Danica to a plate race win in either Busch or Cup... (they, NASCAR, want this chick to win soooo bad, they are going to make it happen so that the fans at whichever track it happens be it Tona or Dega can riot. Frankly, it's just time for a girl to win a major NASCAR event)

Logano will be released at season's end... (it's been fun but this IS a business & he has not produced like alot of folks including Joe & J.D. Gibbs thought he would, he's been the worst of the three cars in that stable every year, I think it's time for a new driver behind of the wheel of #20)

These are my thoughts, who knows what'll happen. Heck heading into 2011 most folks thought Jimmie had it in the bag before the green fell on the Daytona 500, who knew the season was going to go like it did...
 
This is going to be a strange year because there will be winners and losers in the crew chief shuffle. The three locks as usual will be Harvick ,Edwards and Johnson ,the three wild cards that noone can predict are Tony ,Brad and Kyle , the three steady guys that should make the top twelve easily are Gordon ,Kenseth and Biffle and the three fringe guys might be Junior,Kasey and Denny .
 
I think it will go pretty much like the past few years have gone. Someone will be a surprise winner at Daytona, then the usual cast of characters will dominate the regular season.
 
There will be some huge internal changes at Penske, and Brad Keselowski will be in solid championship contention at Homestead.

The 48 team will falter again, and Chad will take a desk job at HMS in 2013.

Kurt Busch will fill in for Danica's cup car, and win races. He'll also help out some 2nd and 3rd tier teams.

Kyle Busch will have a terrible season as he struggles to control his emotions AND race hard.

Carl Edwards will have a terrible year, racing too hard and wrecking a lot.

Denny and Darian will prove to be a lousy match.

Jr will win not 1, but 2 races.
 
I have a feeling that Kahne is going to be the center of attention more times this year than he'd like and Earnhardt Jr. fans will play a huge roll in that.

I think that Bowyer is a crap shoot and that Ambrose will make the chase.
 
I predict there will be at least 3 rain delay races in 2012. Loudon[twice] and Dover[Spring]. All of which i will be attending,so of course it will rain!!!!!!!!!!!

The 5 car will be in the Chase for the Championship. The 88 will not.
