Talks about how the expectations of the Gen 6 were not exactly met...

"I think NASCAR was hoping for better side-by-side racing. In fact there is a NASCAR test coming up at Charlotte Motor Speedway to work on that very issue. What you can't ignore is the fact this was a record-breaking car in 2013. We saw some incredible racing and speeds that came out of it. Don't lose sight that almost 50 percent of the races in 2013 were won by a different driver. That's pretty impressive."

So what do you guys think? How do you grade the Gen 6 cars? I give them probably a B-.. room for improvement but a step in the right direction.

Bleacher Reports looks at the sports biggest stars and grades them on their performance.. and my opinion in the brackets.

Danica - D+ (A little generous)

Hamlin - D (I'd give him C- because of the win)

Tony - Incomplete (B for races run)

Stenhouse - C (bingo)

Truex Jr. - B (B+ if not for the MWR fiasco)

McMurray - C+ (Who?)

Keselowski - C (Bout right)

Edwards - C- (How is he lower then Kez?)

Kahne - D+ (same as Danica.. really?)

Newman - B- (SHR's only hope.. did well for a guy on his way out... Harvick overshadowed him though)

Kurt Busch - B (Agreed)

Biffle - B- ("You tore off my bumper cover!")

Joey - B (Would be an A if he won all the races he could have and/or didn't blow up in Chicago.. high hopes for 2014 from this guy)

Bowyer - C- (I'd say B- but everyone's hating on him because of Richmond)

Gordon - B+ (I would have liked to see him be in the fight at Homestead, I agree with this based on the 13th chase driver thing and climbing up to 3rd at one point)

Dale Jr - B+ (Yup.. if not for the engine at Chicago he may have been a real threat for the title)

KyBu - B+ (just shows how much popularity affects this.. same as Jr. for some reason.. I'd give him an A-)

Harvick - A (Agreed, I dont like the guy but to have that kind of season as a "lame duck" is most impressive)

Kenseth and JJ are both clearly A+'s ... and I see no reason to argue that.

Opinions? What grades would you give them?

I wonder how many rewrites Hammond did before Helton signed his report card ;)

A minus
Harvick

B
Gordon (two many races were they totally missed the set up). The great drive at Martinsville turns a C into a B.
Kahne- hit and miss but two wins gets him a B
Kurt- Perhaps an A performance, but he worked himself down to the equipment

B minus
Newman, nobodies favorite but he got on the wheel at Richmond and drove his heart out, he should have won that race.

B minus
Edwards 2 wins like Kahne, not as many runs near the front.
Logano- one of the most improved drivers but he was fast enough to expect two wins. Poor performance at Richmond

C
Earnhardt no wins while his 3 other teammates won.
Kez, to much thinking and talking, and the poor performance demonstrated he wasnt as mentally strong in 2013. A big let down, he was truly great in 2012.
Austin Dillian only a few races, but he seems mature and poised to accomplish much. Stealing the Eldora show reflects great ability to adapt ( I know not a cup event, but still a great indication imo).

D.
Danica a generous grade.
Clint and Denny two guys good enough to be champions that allowed moments of immaturity to ruin their seasons.
Denny the 2013 most immature marquee driver in a Sprint Cup car.

F
Pastrona ( F drivers dont last).

IMO, only Johnson deserves an A+, with Kenseth and Harvick close behind. The rest don't matter :D

Just grading the way "I" see it. :D

It's sorta like in middle school PE when you had to do push-ups and the girls got to do Girl push-ups!!!! Different scale for them:p

Sorry, sorry sooooooooo sorry. Sometimes I just can't resist.

Actually I would have rather done the girl's push-up's, they smell better and are a lot more fun.
