2014 Monaco Grand Prix

I fired my cable company, built an antenna, and bought a Chromecast. Anybody got a good free link for the F1 race that doesn't come with a virus?

I've been thinking about firing my cable company...just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Firstrowsports.eu has had a wide variety of sports on it in the recent past...just be careful with the pop-ups...I almost bought a mail order wife from Russia once after a few beers.

It's on regular NBC. Can't you get that OTA with your antenna?

I saw the GP2 race on Firstrowsports.eu this morning. I missed the start, but there must of been a crash that blocked the track completely. They had to red flag the race on lap 12, and was a half hour or so before they got it going again. I don't think anyone was hurt, but what a mess.

I got rid of cable too, its a great weekend for races on OTA tv. NASCAR, IndyCar, F1 and also the Global Rallycross race from Barbados is on NBC on saturday.

There is going to be a F1 documentary on Saturday night at 8pm I think, on the NBC sports channel.

It is 2.5 hours so it most likely will have some good footage.

Post a link, my hero.

For the Global Rallycross schedule? Its here: http://www.redbullglobalrallycross.com/events/

But they do have links to results (the Barbados race was last week, the show tomorrow is tape delayed)

It's on at 1:00PM Eastern

All of the Global Rallycross races this year are on free OTA tv, all of them except 1 are on NBC (the Austin, Texas race is on ABC)

I found it online yesterday and watched it early, it's very good. Mainly delves into the lives lost in the 60's and 70's and the ensuing safety developments.

Sounds just like the first corner of last year's GP2 race.

thanks!
several good race shows on nbcsn tonite.

Ok it is Race day, the biggest race day of the year.

Monoco on NBC @ 7:30am EST. (About 2 minutes)
Standing Start @ 8am

Remember DVRs on NBC the primary channel, not one of the cable NBCsports channels.

I dont think Nico played any games in Q1 yesterday.
-F1s heavy handed penalties means starting in the back if they believed shenanigans happened, and belief with a little evidence is all they need to act. It simply wasnt worth the risk, and it weighs more heavily than good ethics.

Monaco with all its glory has an Achilles heel of being virtually the toughest pass for position in F1. But still the same Hamilton among the two equal cars will have several opportunities, with tyre and pit strategy.

Hamilton is the more aggressive, and I do think Nico needed the pole more. I would bet on Hamilton for the win, but he also will be more prone to make an error. If he goes all out to solidify his recent dominance it could force that error on the technical track.

Kimi my favorite, I think his odds are slim.

Riccardo is my best hope. But as much as Vettel's recent dominance has annoyed me, I would still enjoy seeing him stop the Mercedes 2014 ownership.

We need at least 4 strong teams.

Ferrari, RedBull, McLaren, and Mercedes.

Lotus, Williams, F India and orhers at least good enough to win would be nice.

Great start for Kimi, but I dont think he will maintain pace with Alonso.

me, too.
sleep ALL DAY tomorrow!

I have to work memorial day, please no sunday rain.

Was scheduled for 12 hours today. But a guy at work is a big world of outlaws fan. He is from Pennsylvania and loves the Posse. So I traded Friday work for him and he went to the Friday night race, and he is working for me now.

Even then I still almost got drafted to conduct some new last minute time sensitive training with a deadline. So I actually pulled out today's race schedule to those demanding the training and deadline, and starting plotting the training during the non racing hours. Fortunately a work friend bailed me out and agreed to cover the training. I am very fortunate, he was the only person qualified, he saved my day.

(Edited: to add my friend went WoO race Friday night)

Looking at the crowd, every seat filled. Some of the hotel/apartment balconies are standing 2, 3 deep. It'll be interesting to compare to Indy later today.

I wonder if they have any attendance estimates for this race. Indy can handle 250-300k.

Monaco has 30K seats and an estimated 100k watching from non paid places.
yep, I'm seeing 200,00 via BBC's estimates. It's just interesting to me how full those 30,000 seats are. I'd be wearing out my shoes, probably why I get so tired and sore after a trip to Road America.
