2015 NASCAR/Goodyear Testing

Some of you may be following the testing that's going on this year. Both Goodyear and NASCAR conducted testing this past week @ Charlotte.

I believe they took some weight out of the cars with the new changes and the rear spoiler being smaller also affects side force in the turns a little bit, and they took out the minimum ride height last year that changed the center of gravity, so everything is different with the forces. I bet Goodyear is going to come up with a better tire pretty quick.

I think the sensors are used to acquire data for use on a 7-poster test rig. They will be able to duplicate a lap at Charlotte on the test platform. I wonder if they move the tire to each wheel to get data.

Exactly.

There's one at each corner during testing ... the data is synchronized.
