Love tracks where they shift. How many do they shift on racing surface>? I know roadcourses....heard something about MIS.....

Shifting? Not a hard process IMO. I find very little entertainment value in it. Just give me a good race. That's all I'm asking for.

Imo it was entertaining to see who had the best ratios set up and whos trannys could sustain. But the equipment is so much more durable now its lost luster

Am I the only one that never knew Axalta was the new DuPont brand until a year or so ago?
Almost all the time it was on JG's car I associated it with AARP and thought it was some time of medication for the elderly! LOL
I think maybe they could've done a better job promoting the brand with the money they are spending to put it on that car.

This is one race I circled on my calendar last year when the new Aero package was announced. The first of two "roval" super-speedways should provide another unique test. We've seen the package do well at short tracks, 1.5's, 2 mile intermediates and 1 mile flat tracks. Here's to fingers crossed.

I think the buyout happened in 2012 so your aren't too terribly far behind. But yeah it does sound like a medication.

I look for Axalta to really expand their role in NASCAR in the coming years.

The older track was more pretty. The grass would have been fine if the safer barrier was on the backstretch. Hopefully over 1.0 watches the race.
This can be a make or brake race for NASCAR. No series can be healthy without a hot summer swing!

Oh I'm fine with Pocono for Cup I think xfinity should be at a short track instead
I'd be all for the Xfinity Series to head back to Martinsville again. I never understood why they don't race there anymore. It was a good show.

Could have been worse.

Could have been a runway in the trucks series with an automatic Crafton win with those ridiculous Triad engines.lol

I'm seeing possible showers for Sunday. Bit of a ways off yet though. I have not seen rain at Pocono in a number of years, when Gordon won the shortened race in '12 I think. That place is a dice roll for weather every time.

I have a cool double-header with a Philles game Saturday afternoon and then the race Sunday. Lots of driving but it's all good as long as we have good weather. Pocono sent me an email awhile back that there is some NASCAR presence at the Phils and XFINITY LIVE which is the big sports bar outside the stadium. Going to head to Phila early and hope to catch some of whatever they have going on. If I catch anything interesting I'll try to grab some pics from the weekend and report back in the experiences thread. Looking forward to a really good weekend with the fam at the ol' Tricky and the phast phaltering Phils.

They should set up pylons on the front stretch like they did for the Battle at the Beach. Turn Pocono into Martinsville for a day.

The "Jesse Jones we paint wieners five hun-urd."

That's mighty ... generous ... of him.

And if you're from the Southeast, substitute the appropriate color for 'generous' (if you didn't immediately by default).

"That's mighty white of you"

Grandpa das racist

Gracious, I just realized that Xfinity had four practice sessions.

That's quite a bit of mileage.

I'll get tickets but not go. That will assure race-compatible weather.
