Weather talk seems to be all the rage these days. Hopefully nothing to speak of this coming weekend.

Weather..... What can I say? Look at a dozen forecasts, get a dozen different answers. Me, I'm waiting for the board prognosticators to get the final lowdown.
Damn that's a big word for this early in the morning. :D

Great mile and a half track, much closer racing than what Atlanta was. I get purists liking Atlanta and it’s rough surface, but LV puts on some good shows

Much better than Charlotte and Texas I'll give it that

Not feeling the yellow walls, looks like a CMS clone. Was hoping Monster would've changed that about Charlotte last year...

Wish I had the money to go to that considering it's only a 5 1/2 hour drive.

I'm not a 1.5 miler fan at all, but Las Vegas is a MUCH better race track than some of the others (Charlotte, Texas, Kentucky, Kansas)

Mostly agree. However, Kansas has produced some of the best racing on the Cup level in recent years. I've been to Kansas Speedway and LVMS, I just don't see Vegas as being better than Kansas. Racing wise and overall fan experience...

Was this an added race for the trucks this year? Idk why, I keep thinking they usually had a few weeks off after Atlanta.

Yes, usually some time off. They normally don't race until Martinsville after Atlanta. I didn't really pay attention to see how the schedule was altered to accommodate this.

This is interesting.
World of Outlaw ticket $39
Busch ticket $34
Cup ticket --- honestly I expected to find some kind of "cheap" ticket deal for Sunday's race. Expecting to post the WOO race was the most expensive of the weekend. But after looking for about 30 minutes it appeared to me the cheapest ticket I could get was $124 for a seat in the first section of the fourth turn stands about 8 rows from the bottom.

Perhaps Vegas is different than most of the other tracks and don't offer reasonably priced tickets.

Vegas, also Daytona, typically attracts fans from all 50 states, since Vegas tends to be the cheapest flight one can book from their airport, has abundant lodging, and the track is just outside of Vegas. Even 15 years ago it was the only track you didn’t have to break the bank buying a travel package to. While the others were rolling in money, with waiting list, 3 to 5 hours from any airport that could handle more than 5 flights a day, and two hours from any town with enough hotel rooms to cover half of those traveling.

The casinos buy huge amounts of tickets as well as set up suites to comp their gamblers.

It is not an added race for trucks, as LVMS has always had a stand-alone truck race. They have moved that date up to March in the schedule.

The fall LVMS weekend is another triple header... Cup and truck dates transferred to Vegas from Loudon, and Xfinity transferred from the Kentucky stand-alone date.
