Williams get worse by the year. Sad to watch unfold.

UPDATED: Williams to miss second day of testing

  13. Williams is starting to remind me of Tyrrell. Tyrell was never as successful as Williams, but was a top team for 10 to 15 years, before falling off and a weekly backmarker

They should've sold to Daddy Stroll. Do what you have to do to survive...and Racing Point look to be in good shape.

Williams will be exclusively an engineering firm before long, IMO.

  15. Yep besides that’s short good period with Massa and Bottas and that Maldonado win, they haven’t been a legit championship contender since Montoya, and even then the car wasn’t reliable. They will be out as a constructor sooner or later

Am I the only one who thinks having two white and two red tire compounds is confusing as hell?

    donthaveanickname Team Owner

The ones without a stripe are "prototype" compounds.
For the race weekends, there will be one red, one yellow, and one white compound.

For the first time ever in all my 57 years l hope that the Ferrari's break down before turn one.

    EFF them with a chainsaw.

    Go Kimi.

I think all five will be used during the season, but only three per weekend, right?

  24. donthaveanickname

    donthaveanickname Team Owner

Yeah. They'll use five (or even six?) different compounds throughout the season, and three different compounds every weekend.
The main difference to last year is that they will be marked red, yellow and white every weekend.

I hope like hell they don't overhype him, but it might be impossible. I can only imagine when he wins his first F2 race.

Stroll...Mazepin...sounds like the new way of getting your kid into F1 is just becoming a billionaire and buying a whole team.

It's official: Zandvoort will be back on May 10, 2020 and Barcelona will more than likely not return to the schedule

Chase Carey stated he expects the schedule to remain at 21 races.
Since Hanoi and Zandvoort will join in 2020, two of the four circuits currently not under contract for 2020 are going to be dropped from the schedule.
Currently not under contract are Silverstone, Hockenheim, Barcelona and Mexico.
As of right now, it looks like Barcelona and Mexico will be dropped.

Stroll is the Austin Dillon of Formula 1 but at least Stroll admits his ride is bought for him.

With as much as is excluded from this, I'm not even sure of the point.

    "Engines not included."

Should F1 implement the token system again for engines?

  38. FLRacingFan

    FLRacingFan Team Owner

I get why engines are excluded because it'd be a mess with the teams that supply engines and the customers who buy them. One of them spends a whole lot more than the other. That's not really a 'race team' expense but more of a general factory thing.

Half the field allegedly spends > $250M so they'll (in theory) be brought closer back but I still think it'll be very hard to police.
