2022 Australian Grand Prix

The first Lotus ground effects induced porpoising ... similar in form to the stuff currently inhabiting the Mercedes cars, but with a much longer wave length.

Wonder what the US TV viewership will look like this week with a 1:00 AM ET start time. I'm ready for a late night viewing party after the WoO race ends.

Max was closing the gap quickly there after the stop, but that may have changed quickly once Leclerc got his tires warmed up. Will be interesting to see where the pace advantage lies now.

The booth were talking nonsense trying to justify the strategy for Alonso. If they believe in the pace of the car, they ruined his race by not pitting under the safety car. He's sinking down now and will still lose another 20 seconds when he stops.

Not a good hole Red Bull and Honda are digging themselves so far with how consistent Leclerc has been. And if Mercedes can make some pace strides this start will look even worse.

Mercedes got a good result, but they were still way too slow. They were probably right when they said they couldn't fix the car before Spain, but at least they are limiting damage and scoring points. Russel has acquitted himself very well and we all know Lewis is at his best when he has a fight on his hands. Mercedes just needs to hang on until they can update the car, but at least now it is showing a little promise.

Three races in and we have not had a stinker yet. The new cars are much racier.

I think Albon should be given morr credit for his performance:

A point for a Williams team that even said he would only finish 19th this weekend...
