Frontstretch seating there (and a lot of road courses, really) doesn’t really look too appealing. I’d rather do general admission and be wandering between some of the cornering complexes. The Festival Chicane looked pretty full, they said the RV club sold out, no idea about those covered trackside suites that also sit along the front straight. Those also look like something that could impede your view from one of the other reserved stands along there. I also wonder about having the IndyCar weekend and Xfinity weekend just weeks apart. I have to imagine those are the two biggest racing events on the track’s calendar.I didn't agree with the penalty on Scott Dixon. Seeing it right in front of me at the race and then watching on tv was the same. Newgarden comes out right in front of Dixon and then doesn't go fast enough. If they had been racing each other a bit beforehand I would've agreed with the penalty.
Also was disappointed with Fox after the race when they were all excited to interview Palou winning the championship and poor Will Power has to wait around until they decide to talk to him. To me, the race winner comes first THEN we can get on with other things.
Anyway, complaining over. Wasn't a huge crowd at the race which is sad. Heat might've contributed but the reserved grandstand seats were a bit more sparse then usual. Tickets might've been sold but they didn't show up? I can't grasp such a thing but that's me.
They will likely have to boot an existing date to make room for Denver in 2027 and Portland does seem like one of the more logical candidates, unfortunately.
