214 mph in Indy tire test

Just think how fast they could go with a good tire manufacturer
 
LOL they can't build a tire to stand July heat so they're installing lights at the brickyard... What a joke. That track does not need lights. Maybe I'm just hung up on tradition but that track should never host night races. Cars and bikes shouldn't race backwards down the frontstretch either. Pisses me off!

That is super quick... Would like to see what they're averaging.
 
I was at Indy for the race last year and I for one sure as hell wished it had been on Saturday night. Tradition- Good. Getting your ass baked in the hot sun- Bad. Watching that race on a cool Saturday night- Very Very Good
 
I hear ya.. They seem happy this time of year... Is the weather too iffy to run the race in the spring or fall? Obviously May would not work..
 
why don't they move the race so some cup drivers could consider the indy 500, its clear indy car is suffering an identity crisis. I haven't watched the indy 500 in years. why can't either the coke 600 or indy be run on monday??

While on that topic , why can't the NFL move some of their games to Saturday or Monday.:D
 
well for one thing the NFL isn't indy car that is now a shadow of its former self. those old enough to remember will remember when indy car in particular the indy 500 was the biggest race of the year period and nothing was close. the problem indy car has is no one is an american anymore there, well yeah there are some but they aren't the most common winners. if they could get some cup drivers in the race like tony, maybe kahne it would get me to watch. the race is also ran too early on sunday.

A July evening is def preferable to a July afternoon. Plus under the lights will increase the distinction from the 500.

214 mph is scary fact......hope no one gets airborne.
 
The problem with Indy Car racing is it's Indy Car not Nascar!!!!!! RITFLOL Nascar Is the best racing. There's a reason many drivers come to nascar and don't dominate or do very well. Its where all the best drivers are.

That place is too expensive to maintain on the declining income from the two primary races alone. They have to do something to put butts in the seats on other dates. Me, I think the joint is overrated.
