#24 changin his paint scheme

Jeff Gordon announced on QVC's shopping show "For Race Fans Only" that the primary paint scheme will change on the #24 DuPont Chevy in 2009. The primary scheme seemingly changes whenever there's a new occupant in The White House. Gordon raced the rainbow-themed DuPont Chevrolet from 1993-2000 while Bill Clinton occupied the highest office in the land. Gordon experienced his greatest career success in the rainbow car. In 2001, he changed to the fire and flames scheme and raced that for the next 8 years while George Bush ran the country. And now, the third -- and likely, final -- incarnation of the DuPoint paint scheme will be raced in 2009 and beyond. The new 2009 DuPont paint scheme is expected to be unveiled during the week leading up to the October 11 race at Lowes Motor Speedway.(Gordonline.com), am hearing the base color will be BLACK.(9-20-2008)
 
Maybe they are gonna use the scheme from the prelude but without EA on it.
 
Well it can't get any gayer than what he has had. A rainbow and then flames. He deserves to have something cool for a change.
 
Maybe a merger of the 2 schemes....a flaming rainbow maybe? :D

I actually think the flames look good
 
Is nothing sacred any more? :sarcasm: Junior leaves the #8 car and Budweiser, Stewart leaves JGR and the #20 Home Depot ride, and now Gordon going to a black car. Anything to keep the die-cast and t-shirt people in business. :rolleyes:

I think I heard that they are even considering a number change for Gordon if they can get the one they want. It's supposed to be a single digit and is a number between the two he has now... ;)

Never going to happen. At least as long as Childress is alive. Couple of years ago he said there's only one driver he'd allow to have that number, guess who?
 
His grandson uses the same styled number "3" on the dirt.

I'm sure there are hundreds of racers with that style '3' thruout the country. We have, or had, one at the local track here. My point was that we won't see a '3' in cup.

Ok, I can go with the black car. I really like his Pepsi car. I like black cars. BUT....... If they change his number, I will be totally ticked off. I really doubt they'll do that. The 24 has too much history, just like the 3.

A lot of drivers have flames on their cars these days, so quit with the gay stuff. That is just so old.

The one thing I do like with the fire and flames is, it's easy to find it during a race. I hate when he runs the Nicorette since it's hard to find him, esp. when they use it so little. Apparently, Nicorette is supposed to run a new theme before the end of the year. I just hope if he does run a black car, Sam Bass comes up with something good so we can pick him out from the other black cars.

So I tried to get her to post a pic of her #24 hoochie tattoo but no luck. She did send me this one. Pretty tame but it'll give you guys something to put a face to... :D

OK, I didn't want to have to do this, but BP has left me no choice. He's making up tatoos about me because he wants to deflect attention from himself. *sigh* Warning the following image may not be suitable for all eyes!

Not only does he need a haircut, but he also wears his wife's clothes. :eek: :AHHHH: :growl: One bad deed deserves another buddy!! :lol2: :lol2: Next time I might not be so nice. ;)
