Texas AutoCross Weekend
We have 13 schools that will be represented at this year’s event. They are UT Arlington (7 cars), UT Austin (3 cars + 1 special), Wichita State U, Texas A&M (no car), U Kansas (3 cars), U Oklahoma (2 cars), U New Mexico (2 cars), South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (no car), Missouri Science and Technology, U Missouri – Columbia (no car), U South Florida (2 cars), and Iowa State U (2 cars). That makes a total of 26 cars (plus two
more local cars) and 120 folks officially registered. There are 84 drivers registered for Saturday and 45 registered for Sunday.
Schedule
Friday afternoon: Open house and shop at UTA FSAE rooms. Come visit, tour our collection of cars, work on your car in our shop, change tires, bench race, etc. Woolf Hall, 500 West First St., rooms 121 and 104. Woolf Hall is at the corner of First and what used to be College Street before all the construction.
Friday night (7 to 10): Social at Dr. Woods’ house. FSAE in-car videos, event videos, puzzles, games, bench racing, etc. Sandwichs & Snacks and soft drinks provided.
Saturday (9 to 5): Racing at UTA’s big parking lot. Drivers meeting at 9 am. Morning track is the 1998 FSAE Endurance track. Afternoon is a faster more open SCCA-style track. BBQ lunch served at noon (food provided by Arnold Petsche, water provided by Taylor Race). corner of Mitchell and Cooper.
Saturday night (6:30 to 8:30): Pizza party and SolidWorks / Cosmos presentation (hosted by Texas Engineering Systems). Room 100 Nedderman Hall, the building just north-west of the FSAE shop.
Sunday (8 am to 4 pm): Equipe Rapide monthly autocross. Corner of Central Drive and Airport Freeway in Bedford, TX. We will join the regularly-scheduled monthly autocross..

I-20 or I-30 to Cooper Street in Arlington. The university is about halfway between I-20 and I-30 on Cooper Street.

Take Cooper north to dead-end into Green Oaks Blvd. Right on Green Oaks 1 mile to Collins Street. Left (north) on Collins (about 4 miles) to Airport Freeway. Left (west) on Airport Freeway 2 miles to Central Drive. Left (south) on Central drive one block to football stadium parking lot on right. Park on the parking lot to the left (south side) adjacent to track.
