3rd deployment

Last Sunday we had a little gathering, not a party. Family and friends for one of 6 guys who met when they were 12 years old, 25 years later all 6 remain close friends, a very tight knit group. My son is one.
Joe has already done one tour in Iraq, this is his second time going to Afghanistan. He doesn't count the 60 days in Kuwait as a ''tour''.
This is nuts and for what? For what? He says this is it, he'll have about 5-6 months remaining and won't be reenlisting when he returns.
