#54 BGN Team Going Kaputt

Jayski recently announced that Deborah Renshaw and the #54 Toys'r'us team of Rick Goodwin have parted ways. What you will not find on Jayski is what is really going on at Rick Goodwin's shop.

According to a source that is close to the situation, Rick Goodwin has made some unfortunate mistakes that are now affecting the team. Apparently, there was some money being skimmed off the top of what Toys'r'us was giving the team and being used for personal profit. This has led to friction within the team.

The future status of the team is uncertain, but its questionable status was one of the reasons why Deborah and Goodwin decided to part ways. Also, Kevin Grubb has also apparently left the team and the crew chief will be going to the #4 Biagi Brother Chevy currently driven by Mike Wallace.

It's a shame, it seemed like that team had a lot going for it. But with a corrupt base, there's no way it could last that long.
 
I thought it was kinda odd for them to part ways without even starting a race yet. Rick seemd to really belive in her, even when the crash happened he still supported her and said the ride would be there for her when she wants it. Well she wants it, but its not going to be there any more. Ihope both Grubb and Renshaw can find other rides in BGN. Grubb was going to run for ROTY in cup with that team.
 
Grubb is a good driver, and it's a shame we will not be seeing him make his Cup debut this year. Hopefully he finds a good ride.
