Hrm.. I have brighthouse..and DVR.. how do I record it if its not listed tomorrow?

This sucks...

hrm.. when i go to the channel guides it asks what shows i want to record.. is there a way to set the record to manual for time only?

at 12:00pm tomorrow it lets me record judge judy but only 2 hours past the show..so id only get like 3 hours worth of recording..

Set it to record all the shows scheduled to air between noon and 6.

if i set it to record the shows that are supposed to run those hours, it will record teh race instead?

I thought it will just turn off, since the shows are cancelled becaues the race is being broadcast.. I was thinking the box is set to record the shows and not the actual time ..

I have Verizon FiOS. If I set the recorder up to record a certain channel, it records everything on that channel. I normally record Hi def and Fox just in case something happens to one channel or the other.

As I stated previously, I always record the program following the race just in case the race runs long.

I have Comcast w/DVR, it works the way I said... I agree w/Smoke14, set it to record later than the race should end in case or delays or rain.

I have DirecTV and I record lots of stuff manually.
The problem I have with recording all the shows that are on in the timeslot is that in order to watch the race you will have watch each show individually, in other words you can't just hit play and sitback and watch the whole thing.

On DirecTV I press the menu button, a menu pops up. I scroll down to "Manage Recordings" and press it. Next I scroll down to "Manual" and select it. A window opens where you can manually select the channel, date to record, set the start time, and finally set the duration. I set mine to 9 hours for today in case there's more problems with with rain.

Hope this helps somebody. :beerbang:

My Cox is completely different (as eveyone snickers...) Once I hit record on a show, I can then just tell it to extend the end time anywhere from 1 minute to 3 hours, and then it just goes continuous. I use this feature on all the live races I record, and a few shows I watch as well.

not sure on your dvr, but I know the one I have has an option to extend time...... I just set it upto record the one show, then extend the time plus whatever..... in this case like 5 hours. Dunno..................

Weather map looks like popcorn again but not as bad as yesterday.

As of 10:30 AM there is a few rain storms in Lancaster Co, S.C. which are making their way north. After that, it looks a bit better.

Might be delayed in getting this thing off today. If it does start on time, there might be at least on rain delay early on in the race.

I think we will be lucky if we get half the race in today before they call it done.

Well mine I can do the same thing with a maximum up to 3 hours. In this particular case there is a 1 hour show scheduled to run at 9 am so that would allow me a total of 4 hours. That is not enough time to be sure it will get everything. Heck most weekly races run longer than 4 hours so add the extra 100 miles on to the race and then to be sure in case of rain delay I want 8 hours for todays race so I set it manually.

Listening to the Morning Drive on Sirius radio, and Chocolate Meyers says right now the sun is out in Concord at the track. They are broadcasting live from there.

SPEED is airing RaceDay right now...it's sunny at the moment
