Haven't seen a thing in any media to mark the occasion of D-Day, June 6th, 1944.
:salute: to those who were there and those that gave all.

There was an item in the paper about the work going on to save the cliffs at one of the beaches--Utah? The workers had been given strict instructions about their behavior --- keep your shirts on, etc. To honor those who fought and died there.

In the funny papers, the Peanuts comic had the iconic picture of Ike and the troops with Snoopy.

I just might watch the movie "The Longest Day" tonight after the race. I guess that I've watched that movie a good 20 times and hope that I can watch it that many more times before I kick the bucket.

Thanks again for anyone who served or had family serving on that day. My hats off to true Icons and Heros.

Only mention of D-DAY that I heard was on Fox News.

My dad was in the Army then, but was stateside.

It is surprising and disappointing in a lot of ways that this is the first I've heard about it this year.
