Jim Smith and Ultra Motorsports will shut down the #7 Nextel Cup team after the Daytona 500. Although the possibility exists for Ultra to run additional Cup races, Smith says he's turning his full attention to the Craftsman Truck Series. "I'm not going to run this team out of my own pocket anymore," Smith says. "Half the team has left, the other half has been laid off, and anyone left over we'll keep to work on other stuff. There will still be plenty of racing in my future." Driver Jimmy Spencer's plans are uncertain.

Spencer will find a ride, someone will want an aggressive driver...

He can always just beat somebody up and take their car away from them. I nominate Harvick. :p

That would be a good match up...Spencer vs. Harvick...

I would pay for that one!!! :D :D :p :p

Poor Jimmy. Who in the world is Kurt gonna fight with now. :D
two words for ya, Kevin Harvick :)

harvick is fast and wiry, spencer...not so much...i think the advantage goes to the 29.

harvick may be more of a match than kurt, but you guys have to be realistic here. spencer would fling harvick like baby poop.

The information was posted on Jayski's yesterday.

Jimmy could always go to the truck series and drive for Toyota..lol

I dont see why Jim Smith just wont start another truck team for Jimmy. He sure has plenty of trucks or at least he did at Homestead. Oh well, I hope Jimmy finds something though.

Hey Jimmy RC cola and a Moon Pie Spencer!
I hear that Crispy Cream is look for a spokes person!
:XXROFL:

I thought I understand Jimmy Spencer to say that he was resurrecting his "own" Busch team. ???
