Kevin Harvick won his first career Winston Cup race in his 3rd career start driving the same car the late Dale Earnhardt won 7 championships in. Harvick held off Jeff Gordon in a photofinish (.006) in Atlanta.

Harvick would go on to win the inaugural Tropicana 400 at Chicagoland Speedway along with winning the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series Championship and Winston Cup Rookie of the Year honors.

And FOX managed to bring us the whole race without Digger - how did we live?
