It's hard to believe it's been 13 years since the events of 9/11/2001. On that Tuesday morning, everything changed. Thousands of people lost their lives, and families were torn apart forever. Time has passed but we should never forget those who no longer have the privilege of waking up each day and living their lives. No matter how busy you are today, stop and take one moment to be grateful for all your blessings. Remember that life isn't endless and you have to tell those you love how you feel. We often take people for granted because they are always there for us. Remember those who aren't with us anymore and honor them by living your life to it's fullest. God bless.

So many other things happened on Sept 11th that's erased now. Bear Bryant's birthday, Pete Rose breaking Ty Cobb's record, fall of Saigon....

Hope your wife has a good day.
Since 2001 I've went overboard celebrating it with her. She learned quickly how to separate the two events. And thank you, I'll make sure she does.

I can honestly say that was the only time in my life I was truly afraid on what was is store for the USA. I checked my ammo stash when I got home.

I'm just going to copy and paste over from what I posted on Facebook:

On this day 13 years ago (September 12, 2001), I remember seeing humanity at its best. I remember walking in to school and the hallways weren't made up of the typical gatherings of "cool kids" and "losers". It's as if we had all been cleaned of things like hatred towards each other. Nobody thought they were "better" than anyone else. It's as if we had all died and been reborn as new people. And, of course, it was because the day before truly changed the world.

There was no hatred in those days and weeks after 9/11. The only anger anyone had was towards the terrorists that killed 2,977 of our brothers and sisters. The way we, as a country, united as one, The United States of America, those days made me and still make me proud to be an American.

I would love to see the people of this country stand united like that again -- even if only for a day. And I would hope that day can come without having to be provoked by a historic tragedy.

God bless America.

Dude, it's become so hard to see the good in people because of divisions - political, social, philosophical, you name it. We've become fearful, bitter, angry people. We aren't defined by who were are and what we do, we're defined by who we voted for in the last election, what our skin color or sexual orientation is and what religion we practice (or don't practice).
