While I was riding my bike last weekend I noticed that I had developed a vibration in the motor. Enough of a vibration that it rattled the lock cylinder out of the padlock used to lock the triple trees.
This morning I went out to look it over a bit and try to diagnose the origin of the vibration. I was relieved to find the top motor mount loose.
My bike is not the usual Harley, it's 37 years old. It's an FLH frame with an Evo motor. It took a lot of massaging of the frame to fit that motor in that frame. Normally, you can see the top mount, but on my bike you cannot. I had expected that it was a lower-end vibration and that I was going to spend a couple thousand dollars to rebuild the motor. It's nice to have a little good luck once in a while. :)
