Jeff Gordon has won The Winston three times in his career...1995, 1997, & 2001. In each of those years he went on to win the Championship. I would love to see that play out again this year.

In fact, the winner of The Winston has went on to win the championship eight times. Coinsidence? For a "non-points race" it seems a little more important in light of this information.

Performance in this race sets the tone for the rest of the year.
