A new legend?

Any of you seeing one of these newer guys start to shine more then the rest? (another Richard, dale sr, or jeff G)

Who has the most talent in nascar at this point??

I say matt will win a cup this year, and win one or maybe 2 more but I seriously dont see him going past the 3. If tony gets the cars he needs I see him getting atleast 3 maybe 4 or 5, I also say this guy is the most talented driver in nascar right now.

Other drivers I see winning cups include, Ryan newman, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, and maybe a few others.

I think its to early to tell if a legend will come out of this bunch, especially with alot of talent coming in like kyle busch, and carl edwards. But I just wanted to get all of your opinions on this.

I see Dale Earnhardt Jr. winning possibly 3 or 4 championships but he wont get anywhere near his dad in terms of greatness. Kevin Harvick might win about 3 or 4 championships, or more I have faith in my favorite driver and he has the aggressive style and consistency that can get him there.

I don't think we will see anyone win more that 4 championships ever again unless the competition starts to fall off to about 10 cars that have a shot at winning. Now just about anyone can win a race so that means just about everyone has a shot to win a cup. The futuer only looks brighter so i don't see that happining any time soon.

Becomeing a legend is a whole lot diffrant from the Petty and Earnhardt days. Now days TV maked you a legend. So with that thought in mind I would say Dale jr, since he more TV time than any two drivers on the track.

I don't see anyone stepping up and becoming the alpha males that Cale, Richard, David, and Dale were.

Once, legends were made on the track in the cars, now, it's TV. In my mind, it isn't the same.

The way NASCAR is changing the rules these days and making the cars so aero dependent, plus the equal body templates, anyone who accomplishes much within the scenario is not going to become a legend.

Not to take anything away from the current crop of drivers, up and comers included, but it ain't racin' the way racin' was meant to be. If you want to see equal cars race on a closed course, watch IROC.

One thing for sure, with all the bellyachin' on changing the point system, it is more accurate in the present form than it could be if changed. Consistency is rewarded as much as wins and with engineering degrees and wind tunnel tests bringing the sport to where it is today, the people standing in the shadows get as much credit as the driver.

I'm not sure any "legends" will come out of this modern era in NASCAR "Winston Cup", "Nextel" racing series.

As Michael Waltrip, bless his ole pea pickin' heart, said after the Busch race yesterday, when the car is set any one can drive it. That in itself sez a lot.

I say jr. maybe, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, thats really all I cant think of. But anythings possible now a days.

Junior might become a legend but it most likely will not come at the behest of his driving but more for the popularity he enjoys. He is and most likely for years to come, will be the most popular and biggest seller of souviners of any driver, ever.

That will be his legacy, not his driving.

I don't think Jeff Gordon's finished winning Championship yet. I also think Kurt Busch, Newman and Jimmie Johnson will definitely win at least one.
And of course Tony's not at all finished winning Championships.
