ESPNews covers the Chase: ESPNEWS is extending its coverage of nascar during the Nextel Chase. Every Monday night from now through the Monday after Homestead, ESPNews will devote time in its 9:00-10:00pm/et block to The Chase. Extended highlights, post sound and analysis from Geoffrey Bodine, hosted by Linda Cohn. Each Monday ESPNews will look back at the race the day before and take a look at the next race on The Chase. Live guests and news and info from nascar reporter Mike Massarro.

I think it's awesome. ESPN had good coverage of NASCAR. Now, with NBC supposedly moving out of the coverage, maybe we'll see it on ABC (ESPN's network partner) which is a good indication we'll see some good coverage.

Is that THE best idea ever?

Freakin' awesome, when I saw them do that the first time I was so stoked I made my wife come and see...she didn't care, but I made her look anyway. =)

Sports like soccer and racing that never stop NEED that kind of coverage and I'm glad that the ABC/ESPN channels give them that.

I would love to see ABC and ESPN get the NASCAR coverage back, just as long as they leave Bill Webber at NBC!

Don't get over excited about the side by side commercial/racing at the same time. While they can do this with the nationally televised time, when it comes to local time, they won't do it. But you have to admit, and I've seen them do this before, it's a step in the right direction. Also, while we or at least some of us aren't all the enthused about NBC's coverage, it is this network that has quickly come back to the race after going to commercial. And too, this is only when it's the nationally covered ads.

Sorry Buckster, I can't agree that NBC does that, as I have watched their "Nationally Broadcast" events and it seems to me that they end the telecast as soon as they feasibly can with VERY LITTLE post race coverage (including interviews).
