At Martinsville I stayed at the Dutch Inn in Colinsville. A good friend of mine
Jessie Sikes used to get a block of rooms for us there. On the llast Sunday in
March and October the Modifieds cme down from the north for their first and
last race of their season.
Everybody congreted in Jessy's room in the evening. A friend of Jessy who lived
local broght him a couple of jars of moonshine. They had a couple of peaches
in each jan and was called Peach Brandy. The jars had been pased around
and emptid except for the peaches.
Acouple of young crew members from one of the top modified teams came by.
They were running off at the mouth and spotted the jars with the peached in
them. They ask what it was a were told Peach brandy but the brandy had been
drunk. They ask if they could have the peaches. We warned them that it were
potent but ate the peaches anyway. When the car owned got ready to leave he
found the crew members passed out beside one of the beds. They had to be
dragged back to their room and did not come to the track the next day.
If you go to the track in Martinsville and someone offers you a jar wih clear
liquid and peached in iit drink the liquid but don't eat the peaches.

Great story. My neighbor has a cabin up in the mountains in Wilkes county. Jr. Johnson ownes some of the land adjacent from Jack's place. Anyway, last Christmas, Jack came over and gave us a Christmas gift. It was a mason jar with clear liquid in it. :) Jack said that this stuff is pretty potent, but if you keep filling it up after you sip a little, it will continue to be good. We haven't touched the stuff and it's still in the cabinet. Jack said this stuff is really good, though potent. He told me he got this stuff from some of his neighbors up there. We know about Jr and his past, but what about his other neighbors? ;) There is more than one still up there in those mountains. :beerchug:

Great story Tiny, and I have never gotten so wasted in my life as I did on a few (well a bit more than a few) sips of Christmas Gift 'Shine:D

I had some of that homemade peach brandy once......pretty good but it burned all the way down.:) We figured we would make some homemade ice cream later that evening......and thought that we would put those peaches in the batch for some peach ice cream! Good ice cream......still don't remember if it was the brandy that kicked in or the ice cream but we sort of got wasted after eating that ice cream! Good ice cream though.:D
