Three Local Sisters Die In Fiery Limo Crash
McFadden Faces Murder Charges

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Three Davie County sister on their way home from a Fleetwood Mac concert died in a fiery explosion on Interstate 40 near Vanstory Street in Greensboro Wednesday night.

Police said the sisters' limo was hit by a drunken driver speeding in a pickup truck, and the limo burst into flames. The limo driver was able to escape, but the sisters were trapped inside, according to investigators.

Officials said 16-year-old Megan Howell, a cheerleader at Davie High School was killed along with her sisters 24-year-old Mysti Poplin and 29-year-old Tara Parker. Parker is a former Miss Winston Cup and the wife of Sean Parker, crew chief for NASCAR driver Dale Jarrett.

Police charged the driver of the pickup, Jeffrey McFadden with three counts of second-degree murder and driving while impaired. He is being held in Guilford County Jail with a $300,000 bond

Something about that name "Tara Parker" ....couldn't remember what it was but I remember the TV commentators talking about her once before.

I went back to Jayski and found this statement.

" Most race fans know Tara from her long wait for a heart transplant during 2000 and 2001. She finally received her heart on July 28, 2001. Married in November 2000, the Parkers had welcomed a new member to their family on July 6 with the birth of their first child Jagger Alexander."

What a shame!

My prayers go out to Sean, Jagger and the families impacted by this tradgedy.

How absolutely horrible. My heart breaks for her friends and family. My prayers to all that are touched by this accident.
 
I am bumming this afternoon. Tara was Shawn's God send. That baby of thiers is only 3 months old. They have already reported that Shawn will not be with DJ this weekend.
 
Very unfortunate. My condolenses go out to that family and team.
 
Sad is much more than I feel. What a tradgedy. Prayers and Blessed thoughts to all the families.

This is really sad, my prayers go out to the family.

Drinking and driving killed about 17,000 people last year alone, and injured half a million more. Rediculous
