A very Premature Daytona 500 Pick!!!!

I will let you know who my pick is after Testing and Practes and stuff but right now im leaning a bit towards the #2 Miller Lite DODGE of Rusty Wallace. Now lets hear yours?
 
Its VERY hard to tell right now with 3 or the 4 cars getting makeovers. It sounds like Dodge,Chevy and Pontaic are all going to have pretty much the same nose. So Ford will have the proven car for the 500. But all the teams will probaly do some good wind tunnel testing and alot of tweeking with the body so its hard to tell. But I will go with Johnny Benson to win the 500. With the new car,Pontaic should be much better,and they are not bad at Daytona now. If its not JB it will be one of the other Pontaics.
 
Jeff Gordon is always my choice and he runs good just about everywhere. All teams will have done their homework by then, so here's to the #24. :beerchug:

Welcome peglet, just be warned, while we are friendly, we have a tendency to debate and argue about many things. But that's what makes this place fun.

Until proven otherwise, DEI cars are the ones to beat at the plate tracks.
 
DEI cars might not be that good since they are changinf bodies next year!! They still might be ok but probly not as good as they are now.
 
I am thinkin a ford will win so probably Kurt Busch or Ricky Rudd

Jr would be my first pick. Jarrett my second pick, and Smoke my third pick. I'm willing to bet all three run up front, assuming Smoke doesn't break on lap 2 again :mad:
 
It would not surprise me one bit if someone like benson, G bodine petty or some one like that wins if they aint caught up in the big one
 
Why Jerry Nadeau of course in the 01 Pontiac. If not him than his teamate Benson.
 
I long for the day when people actually make picks objectively. "Make your picks" threads are pointless everyone just picks their favorite. :rolleyes:
 
Most of the time yes But I am seriuos on my pick and it seems others agree with me, glad i am not the only one!!
 
I am not a fan of DEI. Their record on plate tracks speaks for itself, and until somebody else steps up and starts winning then they are the ones to beat.

Regardless of body change.
 
Oh no, Busch as the winner of the Daytona 500 would be my worst nightmare!

There's no telling who it will be until we see what rules packages Nascar coughs up for the race (week of, no doubt), but I would love to see an "upset" like Rudd taking it in the Wood Bros 21 car his first time out.
