Aarons 499 Practice

LOL @ HMS/SHR getting pissy when others try to draft with them only to have Bayne and Edwards smoke 'em:XXROFL:

What exactly happened?

Who/how were HMS/SHR getting 'pissy'?

I'll try to explain.

The HMS/SHR drivers had a plan on going to go out in a pack by themselves. Just HMS/SHR. Well Edwards, Busch, Bayne and some other ones started following them out of the pits. Gordon was leading so he just coasted along the bottom of the track and pulled back into the pits and stopped. Smoke was at the rear but in front of Edwards, who was leading the other group. He just backs up into Edwards to keep that line from moving when Gordon and the rest pull out. So when Smoke pulls out, sure enough the rest follow and Edwards passes Smoke and drives off.

haha its was priceless. I don't know if they all got pissed but someone mentioned Smoke wasn't too happy but that's nothing new. But yes Edwards and Bayne smoked them all.

Did you hear Kahne complaining about people cutting in line?

Edwards was getting a good laugh out of it all.

Stewart kind of sucks at this plate racing deal. He's gotten into a heap of trouble for blocking aggresively here in the past.

But this strategy could work for the race though, you just have to time it right.

You ain't going to beat a bunch of Hendrick and SHR guys if they do it right. That's quite the force to deal with.

The thought of the HMS and SHR cars working together makes me think of the massive wreck they will create when they all decide to cut each others throats going for the win with one lap to go and wreck each other in the process.

6 cars, make it 3 wide. 2 cars for each lane and block everyone else and battle it out for yourselves. Kinda of like it went down in 2011.

Not that biguvadeal imo. Good to see drivers having some fun though.

As for Edwards and Bayne "blowing away" the field, the difference between 1st and 13th is only 0.57 secs in lap time. Exaggerating much...
.
DP 7th fastest!
It's a plate track, keep it in your pants bud. Bayne is leading first practice and Annet, Sorenson, Ryan Truex, Whitt, Bowman and Terry Labonte make up 12th through 17th. This track favors any driver who can just play follow the leader in the draft, besides track times dont mean squat here.

In all honesty, do you realize how much real estate is traversed in .57 sec. at 200mph?
Do you understand that track times don't mean didly squat here? No matter where you start based on your qualifying time, you can drive from last to first in a matter of 10 or less laps if conducted the right way.

When's the fight between you two?

Chex Vs BobbyFord

Should be a good one.

Oh. I'm aware. It takes 18 seconds to go a mile at 200mph.
It's not about where you start ;)

It's impossible for 2 nascar fans to hold a conversation without fighting, I know

Reck, see signature :p

· 62 of the 89 (69.6%) NASCAR Sprint Cup races at Talladega have been won from a top-10 starting position.

Jeff's done it from first, top 10 and from well outside the top 20. :rainfro:

imho...I feel that good starting position on a plate track keeps you away from the back markers who may be more likely to cause an accident.

You do realize Danica is the very definition of a "back marker" right?

shes not where she needs to be or where she wants to be no. but she has also not wrecked in the race this year, either.
Shes learning to take care of her equipment.
Id rather run with Danica than some others back there
