I bought the neatest little invention today...well we got a freebie, but we bought them also......saran now makes disposable cutting boards..........great idea for chicken..pork.........ground beef........
anything you don't want to have cross contamination with........
check them out.........less then 4 dollars at walmart...grocery store:D

We are having our 35th church annv. tomorrow. All the ladies are cooking the food for about 250 people. I baked a Lemon Bundt cake with lemon glaze and fixed chicken and pim. cheese for it also. I could have used those cutting boards today! Along with the extra cooking still had breakfast, lunch, and supper to fix for my hungry crew! Was browsing my 200 copies of Taste Of Home for great ideas. Next is a pumpkin roll, and cheesy garlic smashed potatoes. I always try something new:)

Hmm, these boards intrigue me...Might have to pick a couple up.

I have several of those white, plastic cutting boards, but mostly use a much thinner, plastic sheet that is extremely flexible and meant to be used only a handful of times. I keep it around much longer than that. :D

sgbg88, you cooked for 250 people?! Wow, that breaks my record of 25 for Christmas dinner one year. Not only did I roast a turkey, glaze a ham, hand mash potatoes, hand grate around 25 carrots for a baked dish, I made baked ziti (or lasagna -- I forget), an apple pie, a pumpkin pie (from real pumpkin), rugelach, chocolate chip cookies, and some other stuff I can't remember. I did it mostly by myself (didn't sleep for two days), but what you did takes the cake (pun intended). I am impressed! :)

wow Sg sounds pretty good.............you must be quite a cook for such a young lady.......love making bundt pan cakes.......yours sounds so good.........and yes check out the cutting things, they are great......:)

Well as much as I would like to take all the credit, I did not do all the cooking for tomorrow. ALL the ladies of the church are cooking. I'd say about 50 ladies will have their best fixin's on the table. I've been cooking since the age of about 10. I love to try new things and even decorate to the occation. I love to bake most of all. I love choc. so I try many receipes with that special ing. I love the cherry chocolate roll cake I found in taste of home and gingerbread cake. Also spice cookies with pumpkin dip--yum!!! We raised pumpkins last year and I baked them then scooped the inside out and make several pies. This time of the year always gets me to baking and making treats for the family. Made a lady bug cake for my daughters birthday and a hamburger cake for my hubby. I just wish all those treats didn't go right to the hips!!

Those disposables are a good idea. I'll look for them. I'm always worrying about "did I get the cutting board clean".

Thanks for the heads-up, cutiepie. :)

Speaking of chocolate, I decided to go ahead and make what I call my "classy brownies" for tomorrow. They're from a Bon Appetit recipe I've been making since 1991, and they've got nearly 1-1/2 pounds of chocolate in them! I'll probably just have a couple, and bring the rest to work, for my grubby colleagues. They're great for testing out recipes on, except this one is tried and true. :)

I'll post it in the grillin' section tomorrow, after you all see the photos. :)

If it was an abooja original, I probably wouldn't do that. I will publish a cookbook someday. I swear it!

People are going to wonder what kind of a name Abooja is.:)

Alrighty then, that's four cookbooks so far for the CP/DE clan...

Anyone else interested? :p

And I'll probably use my real name for the book, DE: Lisa Earnhardt Jr.

:ROFLMFAO:

Not if Cutiepie has her way..........she's already pegged Jr for her future son-in-law!!:D

So Jr's still going to be my future step-son-in-law? Wow........wonder if I will get a pit pass!:D

Ah, there's no way in hell I'd ever snag a Dale Earnhardt Jr. I assume Kimberly's a bit younger than I am. She'd probably have better luck. :(

In which case...I'm going to ask YOU to get me tickets to the races! Oh, and a full quarterpanel off the Bud car would be a pretty sweet prize too! :D

If he's looking for a motherly type, he's mine. I wouldn't mind bringing him Bud and cookies, telling him a story, and tucking him in bead each night;) ;) . Oh, Boo, I'll take a cookbook also, autographed, of course.:)
