LOL, I've gotta share this..... this summer after the IRL race in Richmond we went to a truck stop on the way home. I ordered chicken fried steak. The waitress barely spoke english and asked me to point out on the menu what it was that I wanted. After waiting quite awhile, she finally brings our food. On my plate sits a lone lil chicken breast with a side of mashed potatos and BROWN gravy...... Come to find out, she was 3 days off the boat, and 1st day at work.

:D

Okay, dinner for all at my place, right after the race on Sunday. BYOB. :D

Chicken fried steak, huh? I've had it a few times, but I've never prepared it. I have to admit, the Yankee in me isn't a big fan of white gravy. Actually, I've only had it maybe once or twice (at a Waffle House, I believe), and the color just grosses me out. But I know that's mandatory for chicken fried steak, no?

Directions to abooja's:

- Fly/drive/walk to NYC
- Take Brooklyn Queens Expressway to Hoyt Avenue
- Follow the smell of chicken fried steak and biscuits to the Clinton-Dewitt Arms
- Eat, drink and be merry

:)

Thanks for the invite, see ya Sunday morning:D

BTW, white gravey looks gross to me too, but it is nummy and mandatory with chicken fried steak. !st, make a roux....oops, you know how already!!

I forgot about the biskits:eek: so I guess my Northern roots showed up a little:D Thanks for remembering!!!!
