i can see where Stewart is comming from...Debris cautions have always been fishy to me.

I know that sometimes after a long green flag run all of a sudden a yellow is thrown because of debris...the tv networks dont always show the debris either.

I watched the Phoenix race again yesterday. In the caution before the Blaney wreck they actually showed two different pieces of debris in different parts of the track. No they don't show all incidents of debris, mostly due to commercials. And, yes I can believe that maybe the caution flag shouldn't have been thrown in some cases. But NASCAR is going to air on the side of safety (and getting the commercial air time in) over someone running over something and getting hurt.
Maybe what the fans need to do is to start writing into the broadcasters demanding to see the debris as the truck picks it up. Then tho, some would say they are just showing incidents from earlier races or even different races. They can't win...

You think the Networks would listen to fans? They're too busy raking in the $$ from commercals.

Just watch the ratings fall yet again and see what happens!

And when the ratings fall the ad revenues go down. Already they aren't filling up the seats. So NASCAR begins to lose money at 1st. But, if they handle this with their usual aplomb soon the bleeding will be an open faucet. At some point they will need to consider what the fans want and by then it could be too late...

You hit the nail square on the head bp.

Question:

I'm a reading this correctly? In all 36 races in 2005 there where 22 debris cautions and 25 in 2006 and with only 8 races run so far in 2007 there have already been 20?

I do believe that they are comparing the 1st 8 races only.
