For any of you that like NASCAR games out there.....

Activision Publishing and leading independent developer Eutechnyx announced the February 2011 release of NASCAR The Game 2011 for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation3 computer entertainment system, and Wii. With a fresh infusion of real world detail and blistering racing action, NASCAR The Game 2011 completely redefines what fans can expect from a NASCAR racing game.
NASCAR The Game 2011 has been built from the ground up to make a thoroughly new experience. The team started by speaking with the people who know NASCAR best - the fans - and took that insight to the teams, drivers and officials to completely embrace what makes NASCAR America's #1 motorsport.
Players can choose to play as themselves or as one of the sport's real-world drivers as they battle it out for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Each pro driver has the AI characteristics of his or her real world counterpart, setting the stage for intense rivalries played out on the track. Damage is meticulously detailed and multi-car wrecks are the most extreme ever experienced in an officially licensed racing game. From the 22 real world tracks to full pit stop strategy action, NASCAR The Game 2011 captures the real atmosphere, sense of speed and spectacle that embodies NASCAR. Players can even feel the thrill of a win with the interactive celebration mode.
The game also includes in-depth multiplayer modes which allow up to 16 players to battle it out for the win online. In both online and offline races, players earn NASCAR experience points which help unlock rewards such as decal packs or special car designs, as well as career sponsorships and special races throughout career mode. Everything you do on the track counts!
Tune in to NASCAR RaceDay on SPEED at 10:00am/et on Sunday October 3 for world premiere of the first official NASCAR The Game 2011 trailer. NASCAR The Game 2011 is slated for a February 2011 release. The game is not yet rated by the ESRB. For more information visit www.NASCARTheGame.com

I wonder if it has a 'Chase OFF' mode? :p

Meh, I'm trying to start my Yard Kart Racing club, and from what I've learned in life, reality is always better than a computer game. :beerbang:

Please PLEASE PLEASE do not let this game suck. We finally got away from EA thank god. Of course Activision doesn't have much history with racing I was hoping Codemaster would step in. Oh well I should go preprder this now:beerbang:

I wonder why Sierra and Payprus didn't take the franchise back over.

My personal favorite is "Dirt to Daytona". I bought 2 so when one wears out some year, i'll have a new one that'll take me well into retirement...LOL!!:D
MoMike

I own NASCAR 2000 for the N64, NASCAR 2005 Chase for the Cup (my personal favorite) and NASCAR 07

Anyway anyone but EA if its not Madden they couldn't care less

This announcement just sent my day from average to awesome is that sad?

It'll be hard for them to beat iRacing, from what I hear, iRacing is the best racing simulation on the market right now.

No game for the PC. Boo!

From what I understand and have seen, nothing can beat iracing. I just don't have a good enough computer to get the damn thing to work right, or the money to get one. Console games are just games, if you want more of a simulator get iracing. It is the ****.

I've been hoping someone other than EA would do a racing game and If it's just slightly better than nascar 09 I'm in.

Can't wait to check out the new F1 game by Codemasters, looks awesome.

Well they said they are bringing back 2 player mode so already better. I need to get F1 that game looks amazing.

Ahh apparently so, and apparently they're now working for iRacing.

Yeah when Sierra told papyrus they were done the lead of that team went out and started iRacing. It was in development for a few years before they released it.

They built iRacing though with the presumption that EA would hold the NASCAR license for awhile. So just now is iRacing working with Nascar and running their series as well as all of their other ones.

I'm just glad EA Sports is gone. From 05-09 all those games were almost exactly the same just with new paint jobs and stuff. These are a few things I would like to see in 2011....

The game is actually a challenge. I shouldn't be able to start 43rd and be leading in 8 laps on Legend mode.

I want the damage to be real. If I get crashed, flip 6 times and get hit by 10 other cars I shouldn't be able to keep racing.

Get rid of the crap where drivers get angry with you. If they crash with other drivers and you hit them they spend the next 3 races slamming into you every chance they get.

Yep it sure is, ever try the Modifieds? Awesome stuff!

To be honest, I haven't tried iRacing at all. I have a racing wheel, but my cat (whom I love very much) decided to make one of the wires her chewing toy and I just haven't gotten around to repairing the damage.

8 laps? I can do it in 3

I've seen demos of iRacing and have been impressed with it. But I don't care for the idea of paying to play when I don't know how often I'd get to play and don't know if I'd get interupted when I do get to play.

man this one had better be good, EA just kept getting more and more terrible every year. I was sooo happy when they announced there would be no more EA NASCAR games. I have huge expectations for this one, don't let me down Activision...

I'm actually more excited about playing Gran Turismo 5 which is going to have NASCAR this year. Check out the teaser trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COCr0CqVmc0

I also highly recommend the logitech wheel. I love it. It makes playing any racing game as real as it can be...

Looks pretty cool....how much does that Logitech stuff cost?

I did watch the video that you posted and you are right, that one looks pretty good. Once I clicked on your link, there were several other video's out there for that same game. The in-car shots looked great. That is one title that I'll be looking forward to.

Now, the one from Activision..... I saw the preview on the Speed pre-race show yesterday. The graphics looked great but they didn't show the actual game-play at all. The clip that they do show you is from Dover and the wreck involving Biffle is so far out of the realm of reality it reminds me of EA all over again. I do like though that they seemed to incorporate some familiar announcer voices. Link to page with video.

If you want to save a little bit of money, you can pre-order it on amazon and they give you a 10 dollar gift certificate good towards any other video game. So you could use that gift certificate on the Activision game.

I agree with you about that crash but it will definitely be interesting to see how it turns out.

It's just nice to finally have some NASCAR games coming out. They should have never signed that deal with EA in the first place.

I sure agree with you about that. I played the various NASCAR series games by Papyrus(sp). I liked that game tremendously as it was more of a sim. When EA took over and turned out basically the same game year after year, I lost interest. These two releases will probably still be more of a game rather than a sim but who knows, maybe they will be good. As long as nobody is the 'exclusive' then something good will eventually be released. The competition should dictate it. :beerbang:

the crash was a bit over the top, man Biffle got destroyed, but it looked good. I hope it's better than EA's last attempt, it was way too easy to dominate a race on the hardest settings.

You have to remember to they are trying to make the game look exciting as hell so what better way to do that then send a car flipping through the air on fire. I liked how realistic the smoke looked.

NASCAR 2011: The Game, release delayed

Eutechnyx delays new racing sim from February to March 29 for more polish; will debut on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. In late September, Activision confirmed it had entered a multiyear deal with Britain-based development studio Eutechnyx to publish multiple NASCAR video games. The first of the bunch, NASCAR 2011: The Game, was pegged for release in February, but that's no longer the case. The delay of game was announced via the game's official forums recently, and Eutechnyx's community manager explained why pushing the title back was a necessary move for the studio. "The main reason is we simply wanted more time to polish it and hopefully make it the experience you guys are craving," reads the statement. "It's never easy to delay a game as it can cause a lot of disappointment, but we genuinely feel that by doing this you guys will be even happier with the end product."

They're probably doing it so that they can implement Brian France's game # 7 moments and the ever expanding Chase field of drivers.

Eh I'm a PC Gamer, so I'm not even going to buy this. I don't even play racing games because well, let's be honest, I suck at racing LOL.

Coincidence that they announce the game delay and possible scrap of the points system in the same day?
