It's been real, it's been fun, but it hasn't been real fun. Sorry to all of you Auto Club Speedway fans out there but I can't say that I'm sorry to see this race removed from the schedule next year. I look at it as a welcome change to the Chase lineup. Hopefully this race will go out on an exciting note! :beerbang:

I just hope it doesn't go to another 1.5 mile cookie cutter track, I wouldn't mind seeing Bristol get a chase spot.

Chicago got it. Basically, California's date was removed for Kansas. Atlanta's Spring date was also removed for Kentucky.

So they're moving from one cookie cutter track to another, fan-****ing-tastic.

At this rate, watching paint dry will be more entertaining than watching Fontana or Chicagoland.

ARCA has exciting races on the 1.5 mile tracks... why can't NASCAR?

Because of the COT. Trust me, ARCA will get boring once the COTs trickle down to them. I once read that ARCA teams buy the cars from the Nascar teams, so expect to see the COT in the ARCA soon.

My problem with the 1.5 mile tracks, is that there's TOO MANY of them! We have Chicagoland, Fontana, Charlotte, Texas, Kansas, Kentucky, and Las Vegas. All of them 1.5 tri-oval cookie cutters!

I'm up for a figure eight track , if that would make you happy.

What would make me happy is some more variation in the designs of these tracks. I mean look at the tracks where the most exciting racing has happened. Darlington, Bristol, Pocono. All of these tracks have different design and challenge the drivers in different ways. What does one 1.5 tri-oval offer that another one doesn't?

I'd say it's time to throw in a dirt track. :beerbang:

Fontana is 2 miles, like Michigan.

Line of sight.

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I don't think one has anything to offer over the other when comparing a 1.5 to another 1.5. As far at that design over another type of track then I think that it is the line of sight. I love Pocono but those grandstands suck. That front straight is far to long for good viewing. That doesn't occur in the 1.5 configuration.

I think they need to throw a road course race into the chase. They have all the others, plate, short, snooze fest, why not a road course?

I don't think the COT is the problem. They've had good races with the COT.

The Chase is the problem. Everyone's too conservative because they don't want to lose points.

 Pocono generally produces the longest, most boring races in the Cup season. The fact that there are 2 awful races that are identical just a few weeks apart is ridiculous.

I enjoy Chicago, it actually has a different layout than most tracks its size, as it is kind of a continuous oval.

Kansas getting a 2nd date angers me.

To each their own. I enjoy Pocono, and detest Chicago.

So.....

Auto Club Speedway will have 75 couples get married or renew their vows on Sunday, which is 10-10-10. I guess that's on way to get at least 150 more people in the stands. 300 maybe, if you count the best man and matron of honor. Possibly 600 if the bride and groom's parents are there. Throw in the entire wedding party and guests..... Wait a second, I see where they're going with this. They may fill those stands after all. :D
