New to the boards here.

AJ Foyt is my idol, always has been always will be. Pulled for Larry for a while until he hung it up in NASCAR, Larry is trying for another Indy 500, so hope he does well there!!

As for Anthony Foyt. Been a tough 1st year. He's been getting a lot of heat. I will probably get some with this post, but I personally think most of his problem is communicating to the crew what to fix when the car wont handle. Evernham has been working with Foyt lately, giving him Jeremy Mayfield's In Car headset to let him listen to what needs to be said. I dont think the kid learned that when he drove for his grandpa in the IRL. There he pretty much just got in the car and drove it the way his grandpa had it setup.

Foyt IV is raw talent that needs as much seat time as he can get. Its just going to take time.

Saw the #12 and #14 of Fitz-Bradshaw entered into the Busch race at Darlington. Both Drivers are TBA. Any word? Anybody know who it will be?

You may get some flak for this post, but if you do, it's from very immature posters. Nothing wrong with being a fan of little AJ. I wish him the best, but just because he's the product of the Foyt family won't give him carte blanche in the series. That might have worked in the old days, but even the product of Dale Earnhardt doesn't give you an in in NASCAR as can be witnessed by Kerry Earnhardt. The key to today's top drivers is really not in his ability or seat time, but being in top quality equipment. And, today it's getting more and more like the old and new Indy league, what are you going to bring to the series as far as money or sponsorship?

I've only seen little AJ (please excuse my use of the term little AJ as I'm not sure what he wants to be called...maybe Anthony?) a few times in NASCAR and a few times in the Indy cars. It takes a special person to wheel one of these cars, and to try and do it with two totally different cars takes an even more special person. Whether or not he is successful in his endevour, only time will tell. As with all the others who give this series a shot, I wish him luck.

Thank You. Response and Question...

wow that was a really cool response, I appreciate that. That does pretty much sum it up and a very mature, you know your racing response (applaud). I think the only way he can possibly hang in there right now is by his name.

But is that what Ray Evernham is basing it on? Or does Ray Evernham know something we don't? There has been some great ones that Ray has brought up..ie, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, but there have been some disapointing ones also like Casey Atwood and Im still not sure what to think of Erin Crocker.

Anyways I feel that if he developed as a driver it would be huge for the sport and for sponsors as well.

Funny but Great Clips I dont think was a good sponsor for a guy like Foyt. Maybe Craftsman Tools or Bubba's Tractors, ya know somethin more Rugged like his grandad. Schlaug Locks was a good one last weekend, cool car and paintjob, saw it on NBS 24/7 on Speed. Just a shame it didnt make the show. Foyt took that one really hard. That was Anthony's first race he has ever missed in his career.

So who do you think will be in the #14 and #12 at Darlington this Friday?? Joel Kauffman, Tracy Hines, or AJ Foyt IV?? Any word yet?

In a way i wont be disapointed if Foyt doesnt get a chance on this one. Darlington has to be tough for a first timer. I can assure a Black Strip down the car on that one. If he does he better just hang on to the car and finish the race.
