Al Gore and his wife of 40 years, Tipper, are separating

The couple wrote an email that found its way to Politico, saying, "We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate."

The email continues, "This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

The couple has 4 kids.

Roughly one year ago today -- the couple's daughter Kristin Gore filed for divorce from her husband Paul Cusack.
 
Wow, after 40 years they throw in the towel? There's got to be more to this then him leaving the toilet seat up.;)
 
I heard this on Rush an hr or so ago.

Like SST there is more to the story then this. I'm not a fan or supporter of him but I do hate to see this happan.

Tipper Gore was a co-founder in 1985 of the Parents Music Resource Center, which pushed for parental warning labels on music with violent or sexually explicit lyrics. The group drew the ire of musicians ranging from Dee Snider of Twisted Sister to Frank Zappa, who said warning labels were unnecessary and a danger to freedom.

Tipper Gore later became friends with the late Zappa's wife, Gail, and played drums and sang backup on daughter Diva Zappa's album in 1999.

Sorry son, you need to be around a few more years before you even begin to understand what is going on in the world.

You may just be learning about history................ I have been living it three times as long as you have been on this earth.

I thought the same thing when I was much younger. It's amazing how much I learned after I figured out that I didn't know everything. I'm not trying to pile on you here, just stating a simple truth. Experience is the best teacher and there is no substitute. You can't see it now, but information without the benefit of experience to process it, is limited at best.

I've never really cared for the guy, or his wife, or their politics. However, I do feel bad for them and any children or other family members damaged by this.

I won't even make the obligatory joke about how he should be able to find new love on the internet. I mean, since he invented it, it should be easy for him to navigate, right? I won't go there because it would be in poor taste. It is almost always really bad to see marriages fall apart.

There is no reasoning with a person this age. From the time a youngster graduates from high school until well after graduating from college, they know more than anyone. Afterall, they've had the best teachers in the world. Experience has nothing to do with anything. I've heard it said and have experienced it first hand, kids don't acknowledge experience until they have reached the age of 25. Of course, those under that age will disagree with this whole heartedly. kk69 will one day have to deal with kids younger than him that disagree with his experiences in life. But hey, they will have had the best teachers on Earth, especiall history professors. ;)

Quite possibly the only TRUE medium of current events,news and pop culture.
I remember knowing it all in my younger days.Just like my daughter did,and now her daughter!
I sure did learn alot more in between those younger days and now.

Age means alot. Ask anyone on here about my post when i 1st joined. I have pretty much grown up on here. I joined 8 years ago & have posted some pretty stupid stuff, I can tell that i have grown up alot since then. We all get wiser with age.
 
Age might not mean anything when it comes to being "smart" but it means everything in terms of maturity. I remember when I was 19 and it's amazing how much more mature I am now. That was just 4 years ago but the older you get the clearer you see things.

Hmmm, seems that if it isn't liberal (neutral to you) it has to be conservative. Has it ever occured to you that some people believe that your point of view is way left? What is neutral is subjective and in my opinion, you don't have a neutral thought in your mind.

You see, you don't even know what is neutral. Being pro-military and pro death penalty are both conservative ideas. Just FYI as a conservative, I've changed my mind on the death penalty because the way it is now is not effective.

But my question is, what does having "neutrel thoughts" mean? Of course I know you meant neutral, but having thoughts? I have lots of thoughts and they aren't neutral or left or right leaning. Some even involve the opposite sex. :growl: But that doesn't mean I believe in them.

As a college kid, advise your professors of your neutrality point and get back to me with exactly how receptive they are...........especially with those lib white apologists history instructors.

(NewsCore) - Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore's surprise split with wife Tipper came as he was having an affair with Laurie David, his fellow environmentalist and ex-wife of Larry David, Star magazine reported Tuesday.

Gore and Laurie David have been an item for the past two years, according to the magazine.

Laurie David split with her “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star husband in 2007 while reports swirled she was having an affair with the caretaker of her summer home, Star reported.

“Al and Laurie went from friends to lovers," a source told Star. "It couldn’t be avoided."

A Gore family friend denied the affair, calling the report “horsesh**,” Politico reported.

Gore and wife Tipper announced their separation after 40 years of marriage earlier this month.

The couple, who famously locked lips in a full embrace on stage at the Democratic Convention in 2000, added that the decision was “mutually supportive” and made after “a process of long and careful consideration.”
 
When I think of Al & Tipper Gore, I often think of the PRMC hearings in the eighties and how they wanted to sensor music because of inappropriate lyrics. One of the bands that they said was destroying our nation was Twisted Sister. Dee Snider from that group went to Capital Hill to testify, with a smug AL Gore interrogating him about lyrics and lifestyle. Jump forward almost 30 years. Dee Snider is still married to his wife after 35 years, has four children who haven't gotten into trouble and how about Al Gore? Lied about creating the Internet, tried to force down his global warming theories, is a slumlord Link and now a cheater. Karma. It can come back to haunt you.
