I'd say NASCAR for hyping it up and NASCAR fans who voted in Earnhardt Jr. What a way to waste your vote on someone who didn't even tried to half ass it....

+1To be fair, a lot of the drivers were hyping it up in the pre-race show, as well as the SPEED channel, of course. At the end of the day, the race did not live up to all their hype.
Again.
Too many laps and too many segments.
Gotta agree with Mopardh9 with this one:
"Yes Exactly run the heat for 50 laps, then the 75 lap feature, without all this segment crap that to me is just annoying as hell."
His crew chief didn't look to excited about that move.Well, somone has to nominate Cousin Carl for tearing up his car trying to celebrate.

OK, I'm launching the black helicopter.
Similar to Waltrip's engine blowing as he crossed the finish line (thus making it impossible to NASCAR to tech), maybe Rousch and Carl conspired to purposely break pieces of the car so as to avoid getting busted in post-race.
(and don't get yer panties in a bunch....this is all tongue in cheek)

i thought he was applying to be gordon's backup to find unsafe spots on the track. bet something is done with that manhole cover before next week.OK, I'm launching the black helicopter.

I thought he was going to turn over. Every time he wins he does the back flip. Maybe he was trying to step it up a notch and trying to get the car to do a back flip. That had to be embarrassing, but he handled it pretty good.I bet the damage was even worse than it appeared. In the words of Fox's broadcasters, "that was a pretty good lick."
That crossed my mind too.OK, I'm launching the black helicopter.

I'm gonna give it Rick Hendrick for letting it leak that Jr will be re-signed to a multiyear deal at seasons end. Ok i'm a Jr fan but damnit, what I don't get about Jr is how the hell he can smile sometimes knowing he is on the most powerful General Motors team, damn near the most powerful team in NASCAR & he hasn't lived up to his end of the deal. You share a garage on the same real estate as a five time consecutive freakin driving champion & you can't even get a damn single checkered flag. I think the man should pull himself out of the car & either drive for himself or for Stewart Haas, heck change makes even. Big Dale drove a Ford for a while, do something man your fans are dying here. I can't even think of another Hendrick driver that had this much time in his cars and didn't win more. You need to start showin up early & stayin late & driving like your life depends on it. Dale Sr was competitive in just about every Allstar race he drove, Jr could have missed the last 7 or 8 AllStars and nothing would be different. He just pisses me off cause he doesn't drive like he wants it. He's gonna be 37 this year, i dunno I guess i'm just venting. Man I miss the days of Dale Sr, Cale, Bobby, Richard, & Harry. Those guys all drove hard even into old age, there aren't any drivers around like those guys anymore...

How about we get rid of the "All Star Race" and put a date in Iowa?
He makes millions of dollars selling merchandising, and he pretty much knows that the Earnhardt name sells itself. Jr. has no drive to win because he doesn't need any drive to win, he's made for life thanks to his last name. He can finish dead last in all the races and in the points for the rest of his life and people will still be buying all the crap that has the Earnhardt name on it. That's why Hedrick re-signed his contract, because Earnhardt Jr. while not winning races, does bring in some serious cash to the Hendrick racing team.
At the end of the day, it's a business, and business is good for Hendrick.
Clearly that's the worse idea I've ever heard. Iowa is one of the few NNW races that the cup drivers can't be in because of the All Star.
It's a good track, a short track, and I bet that the racing would be great there.
I don't think that would be good for Nascar.Honestly if it was up to me, NNW and Trucks wouldn't race at the same track on the same weekend as Cup drivers. That'll keep the Cup drivers from invading the minor league series.
I don't think that would be good for Nascar.
Simply just make it a rule no more than 5 races per season in either of the feeder series, no reason to not have NW and Trucks not race on the same tracks in the same weekend.
If a Cup driver wins, they don't get the money for winning and the team is ineligible for owner's points. That'll keep them out of it.
Anyone who thinks Kyle and Carl run Nationwide because they love racing are fools, it's about the money... and for Kyle, Carl and Brad (especially Brad since he hasn't done **** in Cup), it's easy money.
Why do you think they haven't invaded ARCA?
I can see NASCAR taking away the owner points but the money would be a nightmare to keep track of and handle. That won't happen.

If they don't do something about the money, they will continue to run the races. That's what it's all about.
So sick of them saying on SPEED and ESPN, "these guys run this Nationwide (or Truck) Series because they love racing." It's just not true. If it was, they'd be running ARCA, K&N Pro Series and more.
Well it is a combination of both I think, money and love of racing. Kyle is entered in the Oxford 250 again in Maine. It's a big late model race, I seem to remember him racing a few of those last year and maybe one or two K&N races?
Good post. Chat forums are like wrestling, it is good entertainment, but nothing is what it seems. The debate that never ends. If I only had this board to rely on I'd have to figure that the Nationwide & Camping World Series have all but folded do to the Cup drivers participation. While attendance is down across the board in all three major NASCAR divisions, television ratings are up overall in all three.
