I believe that my Toyotas will struggle. They will use the entire weekend as a test. They will be fine for the 600 because outright speed isn't a big deal. I am hoping for the best, but in reality, this may be a long term thing IMO.

Both Earnhardt Jr. and Ryan Newman won the All Star event as rookies so I don't think that it's all that much of a stretch to predict Larson to take it this year. He has certainly proved to be an aggressive driver and has what it takes to steal the show. The guy will probably put his set on the dashboard and make a run for it.

Larson has been fast.. but with the drivers in the field I see him finishing around 5th-10th... I really think its going to be the Hendrick/Penske/Kevin Harvick show.

Anything can happen in a race and he "could" win the showdown but the odds are way against him to finish higher than 10th or so in the All Star Race. Actually the odds of him winning are the field odds of 30-1.

I think Johnson wins the All Star race. Larson wins the Showdown with Ricky Patrick Jr finishing second. Danica gets fan vote. Ty Dillon wins Iowa.

That was my first thought, RCR is good at Iowa though, Austin had three top five's in four races and I think Sadler won there driving for RCR.You mean Chase Elliott?

Funny thing was he only finished 5th in the Winston Open (now Sprint Showdown). Back then, a lot more cars from that race transferred to the main event than the two + fan vote winner that transfer now.

I can understand Gordon fans disappointment, and as he got out of the car I was worried about his nagging back issues.
But that lap is a classic imo.
Coming off that corner two wide with the bunp is hair rasing, and threewide like they did is insanity. All three drivers have my respect, that is three warriors that will not back down.
And the All Star race at its best, with a winner takes all mentality on display.
