All-Star Race

So far so good. The new format is 4 20 lap races? I'm glad Kenny Wallace got voted in :)

JPM has "you know what" for brains. On cold tires and he takes out a whole bunch of cars.

No more Perfect Hendrick.

BTW ... Remember who won the 500 and All-Star last year. :bounce: :bounce:

Why he didn't do squat. He hasn't done squat. He got in because of his personality and campaign to get people to vote for him. There were a lot more drivers more deserving.

but isn't a popularity contest? btw...i don't have speed, what happened in the all star race that took out Kyle Busch? I am open to hearing different opinions...also, glad to see Johnny Sauter make it...I didn't care much for him in the 30 a few years ago, but I admire his moxie.

Where to start? bp, I'm with you on this and it's nothing new from my point of view. Kenny Wallace is nothing but a personality in my view. As a driver, he's not done a thing. When he came up to Cup from Busch, he came up with two other drivers, Jeff Gordon and Bobby Labonte. Count the titles and wins between those two and then think of the number of wins Kenny has. And don't give me this "he needs to be in a good car". If he had the quality, he would have been in a good car by now. The show needs back markers.

As to the Busch boys, it seems that Kyle is trying to show JPM how to race. You just put the pedal to the metal and damned the torpedoes. If you take out the guy on the outside, just say sorry bout that. I think their thinking is that eight wheels are better than four...that is if they all stick.

KYLE BUSCH happened to Kyle Busch again.

Yeah Kurt was in the bottom lane passing Jeff and Kyle made his own lane to pass Kurt on the front stretch. He was so low he clipped the grass. By the time they got to turn one both had cleared Burton but I think Kurt was a little peeved that Kyle slammed his way past him so Kurt did not give him no room in the turn. They touched which caused Kyle to loose it and took Kurt with him. After the incident they interviewed Kurt and he said yeah I took an inch when I should have given one and chaulked it up to being the All Star Race. Kyle's take was..........oh sorry Kyle left the track without comment. Said something about he was going to kick Kurts ass right after it happened. Alan Gustsafson said that it was all Kurts fault. He said she said I suppose. ;)

I didn't see it as Kurt's fault.

Granted - I had quite a few beer in me by that point, but I just didn't see how #2 did anything to cause that mess. :)

I will admit that I've been waiting to see one Busch take out the other. I was laughing so hard the tears were running.

Kurt took it all rather nicely when interviewed. Kyle took off to parts unknown, leaving his CC holding the bag.

Exactly

Just like the most popular driver contest. Doesn't mean much of anything other than how organized you can be and many votes you can stuff in the ballot box.

OK if that is what you want to think go ahead. ROFLMAO:D

Guess that is why this race counts for so many points. LOL

Remember the last two times the same driver that won the 500 and the All-Star? Here, there names are Gordon and Johnson.

Oh, they won the championships that year also.

Still how does that make a non-points race one of the most important ones?

I seem to remember Truex Jr getting in a few years ago when he wasn't even full time...right? what year was that? I might have been at the track for that one. Kyle petty got in last year by offering the the winnings to VJG or Coke was going to give some money. Hell, use it as a showcase if it makes some charity some money, why not? They tell you to vote for your favorite, for the person you want to see in the race...doesn't say a word about talent or deservedness.
