NBC announcer breaks leg, will not be in booth for Talladega race

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBC play-by-play announcer Allen Bestwick broke his leg during a hockey game and will miss Sunday's NASCAR race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Pit reporter Bill Weber will replace Bestwick in the booth Sunday, NBC said.

Bestwick broke his leg Wednesday while playing hockey near his Rhode Island home.

If someone is not watching a race simply because of the announcers, I question their interest in the sport in the first place.

Unless it's Jaws. If they ARE watching because of him, I question their sanity.


So if Webber's gonna be in the booth, who's gonna look it up so I won't have to?
