already a wreck

I really hope this doesn't mean that this race will go like last night's. But come to think about it, the last ten laps last night really put the exciting back into the racing. I only hope that if it does repeat, my driver isn't in the middle of it all.

and now they wave the green flag with clean up trucks still on the track  that could have been BAD

How 'bout Tony Raines??? He's flying! Nice to see those guys get a good set up and a good run.
Check out Kasey, rejuvenating that Harry Gant line.

Lots of close calls, now caution #7!

Could it be the new surface of just impatience coupled with inexperience?

Good thing Mark is still alive after that tremendous front-end impact.
I guess it was hard for J.J. Yeley to see with his head shoved so far up his butt!!!!!

I was just happy to see Mark moving, and THANK G-D foe Safer Walls and other safety mandates!

Mark said, "I'm Just having FUN"!

Yeley "claimed" he was waving his hand frantically out the window, signaling that he was going to pit. I've looked at my replay several times and did not see it.
Maybe he was signaling going into turn one or something.

IF JJ was pitting he needed to be on the bottom of the track. Feel sorry for Mark :(

All I can say is Mark had a senior moment.

As much as Mark kept saying JJ had let Matt under him and he was going to follow, ..... ? No where in those clips do you ever see Matt's car anywhere, so I don't care what happened on the back stretch, it's coming out of 4 to the pit area that is important. From there the clip clearly backs up JJ's story that his car pushed up about 1/2 a car width, but he was down low getting ready to enter the pits. WTH was Mark thinking deciding to pass on the apron? There was plenty of room in the racing groove to make the pass. Just because he had new tires and he felt like King Kong and his words he "was flying", it should be his responsibility to understand he was going so much faster and prepare to make a proper pass. I believe JJ had no clue he was coming down there, Mark was traveling so fast, and normally you wouldn't expect someone to be passing you on the apron when there was no one around you on the racing surface where a legitimate safe pass could've been made.JMHO!

Eagle,

The replay from the front stretch showed Tony Stewart and then Matt Kenseth pass by. In the distance Mark was just getting under JJ as he started to peel off the track to hit pit road. Matt from the timing would have passed JJ right at the entrance of turn three and completed just past the middle of three. Looking at the first reply Matt was about 4 car lengths ahead of Yeley and Mark was the equal distance behind Yeley. The second reply which was at real speed showed only about 2 seconds between Matt and Mark. Remember, Matt was driving the Carhardt car which is not the regular bright yellow paint. I have it on pause right now if you want to come over and see it. :D

On the Martin crash: Did anybody see him (Yeley) wave his hand out the window? I was watching on a HDTV and saw no such thing. I guess Yeley ran out of talent as they say.

I'm with the announcers about the white gloves --- or even reflective patches on them.

Seeing dark gloves in dark cars or hanging out the window is almost impossible.

As for who is at fault --- I can't say. It didn't seem to me that JJ really did anything wrong. I don't know that Mark made a wise decision to try to go by on the apron.

I call it a toss-up.

My vehicles have a smart little invention....signal lights :)

They're probably too busy for signal lights. (Just like many regular street drivers are, apparently). But, a brake-throttle light may work. The driver behind would know that something was happening just maybe not what. It could also be helpful on restarts when the line accordions by warning those farther back to brake sooner. Tho I could see some abusing that as well by rigging the light to come on to slow down those behind them...

Can you say 'brake-check' on a restart? ;)

As you say, way too much room for abuse with brake lights.

Well apperently Robbie Gordon went up to JJ and said he saw the hand signal.
According to "Wind Tunnel" last night.
