Not sure if any of you subscribe to this service out there but I certainly get my money's worth from this service. Free shipping on everything including some same day deliveries.

We use Amazon for almost all of our Christmas purchases. A TV that I ordered yesterday morning as a gift for my son just arrived a few minutes ago. Many things that I order for my daughter @ college are delivered the same day free of charge.

I use Prime a lot not only for the free shipping and usually 2 day delivery, but also I can look at the rating and comments to get a idea of what would be the best item for the money. No having to run around to the stores and guessing on whether they are junk or not if they have anything in stock.

I've never received any items on the same or next day. They're about to open a new distribution center just over the line in Mass so maybe that'll happen here too. I've seen others on different forums say they are using private delivery services other than UPS, FedEx and USPS, even UBER.

Just shy of 100 orders containing multiple items so far this year, twin grandsons remember, :)
I'm a granddad, it's my job.

I have Prime and use it regularly. I get everything but food from Amazon, and I love their music and video services.

I don't like AMZL_US, their own delivery service that they created to cut costs because they got in over their heads a bit with Prime. It's just not as reliable yet as the established carriers like UPS, FedEx, etc., and unfortunately, you can't choose which carrier you get your stuff from.

My daughter goes to Ivy League's Pennsylvania University in Philadelphia. I can have PennAmazon set as the destination delivery when I order things for her. Some things can be ordered and picked up immediately. Some later the same day. The pickup location is the adjoining building to her dorm. Talk about service.

I was looking at this video earlier today. Kinda cool to see how it all works.

I'm not as big on Amazon as I use to be, mainly because I don't have as much money to blow on randoms stuff as I use to. I've always thought about taking my shopping of typical items such as paper and personal items from Walmart to Amazon, but I've always found that I wouldn't really save any money by doing so. I've had Prime once and while it's pretty cheap, less than $10 a month, it's not really worth the money if you don't make frequent purchases from Amazon.

I've never knowingly used it. I've received packages that I ordered from retailers marked that they were shipped by Amazon.

Use Prime all the time, their streaming movies, documentaries and series are great also, it comes with your prime membership.
Yep, use it all the time. Lots of movies to choose from. A bunch of 4K movies as well.

I'm a Prime subscriber. I use the TV and movies down here and make use of the free shipping however I get everything sent to my cousin in San Diego and only pick it up twice a year. :)

have 3 DC's here in DFW, i get many same day's and alot of next days. They do use private couriers to do alot of the deliveries, which makes tracking hit and miss.

A lot of talk on the news about porch thieves and the efforts of people to catch them. There was also a short report that they are testing placing lock boxes at stores where the carrier would place your item in and then send you the code to get in to it. Also to just have the item held at the local delivery for you to pick up.

I dont do prime because I really dont like paying sales tax if I dont have too, and living here, we have like 7 Amazon fulfillment centers, and I find that a lot of the things I would buy on Amazon, I can get cheaper elsewhere and not pay taxes on top on that. The two day shipping isnt a deal for me either, as most of the times Ive ordered from Amazon, I got my order within 2 days using normal shipping.

Now, dont take that as I am anti Amazon, I do like Amazon, and in the mid 2000's, I did a lot of shopping on Amazon

Amazon has a license to print money.....

Amazon captured 31% of online spending over Cyber Weekend

Target, Wal-Mart and Kohl's each set some sort of online record over the five-day shopping extravaganza that ended with Cyber Monday, but blockbuster digital growth for many bricks-and-mortar retailers wasn't enough to close the gap with Amazon.

According to new data by Slice Intelligence, which scanned more than 1 million online shopping receipts from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, Amazon accounted for 30.9 percent of sales. It was followed by Best Buy at 7.4 percent, Target at 4.4 percent, and Wal-Mart at 4.1 percent.

Wow. Am amazing statistic.

I played an extremely large role in a small percentage of that huge share of the market. o_O

I also played a part.

btw I ordered an item from Amazon early on Tuesday morning and received the confirmation e-mail just before noon. Item was here Wednesday around 10 am. Looks like the distribution center they just opened will benefit me.

Love prime. Did a lot of holiday shopping this year.

I have done all of my holiday shopping on-line this year. Not only at Amazon but Target, Kohls, Walmart, Sears etc. My wife says she's done about 90% of her shopping on-line.

I'm with ya there. I decided to do most of my shopping online this year. So far, I've used Amazon, Walmart and MLS.com. It's quite nice to be able to do Christmas shopping while in the comfort of my living room.
