Well, NASCAR screwed Ambrose. Had it been Junyer it would not have been an issue.

How did NASCAR screw Ambrose. Black and white, you can't just stop on the track and expect to get your poisition back. Ambrose screwed Ambrose. Bonehead move of the year, IMO.

Junior would have never shut the motor off, going uphill, however,
yeah, that no passing under caution rule should work both ways.
Terrible to watch on TV.
I was hoping Robbie would punt Jimmy within the 1st 1/8 mile of that restart, but it didn't happen.

Feel bad for Ambrose. He made that bad mistake of shutting the engine to save fuel and didnt keep pace car speed. That most likely cost him the race.

This was all Ambrose's mistake. I really like the guy but what the heck was he thinking!!! NASCAR screwed no one, Ambrose screwed the kitty all himself.

Two years ago last Sunday Junyer passed the pace car at Michigan like three times under caution. He was way off the pace lap speed for several laps.

Like I said, had it been Junyer shutting his car off today NASCAR would have made a different decision and ruling.

Ummm, yeah....:sarcasm:

Look, from your local track to the top wrung of NASCAR, if your stop on the track, you lose the spot. (unless you're told to stop by the officials.) I mean there's "not keeping pace car speed" and then there's stopping dead on the track.

Face it, that was a stupid move by Ambrose and he should have lost the positions he'd lost by doing that. NASCAR putting him back in the lead would have been a bad call.

Oh, and let me add......are you kidding? "if Junior had been doing it..." Face it, if NASCAR had given Jenyer a spot back today, he still woulda finished somewhere near the back.

Oh, here we go again, Junior this, Junior that.......

Either that or his crew chief screwed the team. Stupid!
one or the other. haven't heard anything about if it was ambrose's decision or his crew chief's. it was mentioned on tv that he had enough fuel so trying to safe fuel was rather dumb. feel bad for ambrose and his team. i really like the guy and thought he would beat jj. didn't happen. :( he'll win some day though. :)

Why's it a dumb rule? Every short track I've been to, if you stop on the track, unless told to do so by officials, you either go the the rear, or you lose the spot.

its not like he went into the pits how many times do we see after red flags a guy stall it and need a push to get going and he goes back to his spot

Big difference between a red flag and a yellow. biiiiigggg difference. For one thing, during a red, you have to stop your car. During yellow, you have to maintain a speed.

And I'm saying it again, go to a local track. Usually, unless someone's told to by officials, you stop on the track during a yellow, you go to the back.

kkfan, during a red flag NASCAR requires you to stop. They allow a push because cars can sometimes be difficult to restart.

The rule says you must keep moving, maintaining a safe speed. Marcos came to a complete stop. Therefore, he loses his position.

Now, I'm hearing that he may have hit the kill switch.

Put another shrimp on the barbie!!!

Like it , love it or leave it, but the Aussie has choked at winning at winning on NASCARS top circuit. He choked going into the final corner at Montreal last year, and on Sunday. He is too good of a driver to make stupid mistakes like those. Well maybe theres the Glen!

well then lets change the rule that after a red your car has to start and of not you lose positions
