The 2018 season of AMA American Flat Track kicked off last weekend at Daytona Bike Week, and the first race will be broadcast Sunday 3/25 at 2.00 PM ET on NBC/SN. Tape delay for the broadcast, so please do not post spoilers if you know results.
I liked the coverage last year. Each race produced a 1-hour telecast. In 2017, the Daytona TT may have been the weakest show of the year, on a very tight Mickey Mouse track. The 2018 track is promised to be larger and faster and better, so we shall see.
Last year, the Indian factory team dominated, while the Harley factory team struggled with their new motor, which is based on the 750 Street production bike. The Indian motor is a dedicated racing engine. I hope Harley-Davidson has upped their game for 2018. Yamaha and Kawasaki mills competed as well, with some good results.
If you like sprint car racing, what's not to love about flat trackin' on the bikes? The race schedule is below, and I have not seen a complete schedule of broadcast dates.
