Ana Beatriz becomes first female winner in Firestone Indy Lights

LEBANON, Tenn. -- First, Danica Patrick. Now, Ana Beatriz.

Beatriz became the first female winner of a Firestone Indy Lights race, overtaking pole sitter and Sam Schmidt Motorsports teammate James Davison on Lap 33 of 77 and winning the Sunbelt Rentals 100.

Bobby Wilson finished second -- 1.2392 seconds behind -- and Arie Luyendyk Jr. third. J.R. Hildebrand and Raphael Matos completed the top five.

Beatriz, starting from the front row for the first time in her Firestone Indy Lights rookie season, got a good restart on Lap 53 and held off all challenges from Wilson. The caution was the result of the No. 11 Lifelock/Sam Schmidt Motorsports car of Davison and the No. 9 Integra car driven by Jonny Reid making contact at the exit of Turn 2.

Points leader Richard Antinucci finished 12th.
