Gordon in the wall! Man did you those cheers from the crowd? Louder than when they sang the national anthem!

Yes, I heard those morons too!
I still RESPECT ALL, WISH NO HARM.
A big HIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ to those Nascar "fans" who are cheering when ANYBODY wrecks.

That is precisely why I started rooting for Jeff in the first place. Because I felt bad for the guy when I heard people boo him when he hit the wall. Then I heard an interview with him and Brooke(kind of odd now) and he just really seemed like a really good guy. And he obviously is very talented.

I have been hearing people boo Jeff lustily for several years now and I am still amazed by the stupidity of it. As much as I want him to win, I just could not see booing when Martin, Marlin, or one of the other challengers for the cup crashes. Even when they blow a motor, it just doesn't seem right to rejoice over their misfortune. It's just wrong.:(

The boo's for Gordon is the most I have ever seen in Sports. I was at the Fontana Race and at the introductions and drive by's the Boo's were ear shattering..

It would drive me crazy after all this time to be booed at work constantly. Would the Boo-ing people like Gordon gone ? Makes you wonder.. If I was Gordon I would leave and go run Cart , IRL or F1 .. That would be something for NASCAR to choke on lol .. JG is a huge draw for NASCAR ..

Wow, for all the people that boo him, he sure does sell alot of merchandise.

He's got a lot of fans. Just don't really see or hear them booing people and cheering when drivers crash. That accolade belongs to a certain other driver's fanbase.

I agree that was loud, but last year at Richmond when that little episode involving Marlin and JG happened and JG went into the wall the cheers were very loud also. Ahh...let's face it people love to cheer when Jeff has problems out there. All part of it I guess. The driver the fans love to hate. What is it that JG says in that TNT commercial about drama, something like "drama is such and such amount of fans cheering sitting next to such and such amount of fans that hate him". Something like that, but that's about the size of it.
Ward Burton got loud cheers also when he threw those heat sheilds at Jr.'s car.
Fans will be fans, but I don't agree cheering when a driver gets put into the wall. Regardless of who it is.

Well, not going to say I wasn't a tad happy to see The Jeff go out early. I get kinda gleeful any time a really big dog goes out. And The Jeff is the really big dog right now. Doesn't bother me at all to admit this.

As far as I'm concerned any of the top twenty cars can find their way to the garage. Money at the back is hard to come by. Every time one of the big dogs finds a wall, it's 5 to 10 grand more for some team that can barely afford tires.

Nothing wrong with being happy about a rivals trouble, but the boobirds are just immature.

I was at a race and this guy in front of me was so happy when Earnhardt blew up, he starting jumping up and down screaming and laughing. He lost his footing and fell off of the bleachers on to the ground. About a 12 foot fall. He got hurt and a lot of fans cheered that! I was happy, but I still didn't cheer his demise.:p

This isn't something new I dont see how anyone was surprised by it.

News Flash: There was a NASCAR before PooBoy and there will be one after. No one person is the show.

I'm always amazed when I go to a NASCAR track the majority of T-shirts you see are #24, but still he gets the loudest BOO's. I guess its just that love hate thing. Sometimes I feel it makes the driver try harder.

Its the same thing Waltrip and Earnhardt had to put up with when they were the tops....

I think Earnhardt said something to the effect of, "Its better to hear boo's than not hear anything at all..."

There you go fergy!! It doesn't bother Jeff or any driver near as much as it seems to bother some in here!!:)

quote from Gordon.....tnn drama

"Drama is setting next to 750,000 fans that love you..... Drama is also seting next to 750,00 fans that hate you."

was i happy tat he crashed no. i wished he had problems in the pits or had a engion go bad to get pushed back in the pack. i am not a gordon fan but wish no harm to him or his fans. just want someone else to with the cup this year. and in a chevy.

You know what the opposite of love is?

It's not hate (as many people think), it's actually appathy. And nobody is really appathetic about Jeff Gordon. I guess that is a good thing. Although as I stated before, it is perfectly fine to not like someone (I have a few myself) but booing when someone crashes is just bad form.

One of the more questionable opinions I've read here in a while.

Guess I'm not PC enough. When a driver I dislike crashes, AND I SEE THAT THEY ARE OK, it sure doesn't make me cry. By the same token, if someone cheers when Ward gets taken out, that's fine by me. Everyone has their own favorites. Don't even try to tell me that every race fan doesn't have at least one driver they don't like. I been around this sport too long to buy that line of nonsense. I make no secret of who I like, who I dislike, and who I could care less about.

Take Sunday for instance. Of the drivers in contention, I would much rather see Mark Martin win the cup than any of the others. When Jeff wrecked, that could do nothing except help Mark's chances, so yeah, it tickled me. Add to that the fact that Jeff is one of the drivers I just don't like, and you can imagine my feelings about seeing a messed up Dupont 24 car. However, I held back until I saw that he was not hurt. I wish no harm on anyone. Misfortune yes, harm no. Sue me.

I for one don't like Gordon. The reasons I don't like him are (A) his personality and (B) he beats my driver. The reason they boo him when he crashes is that they are happy their driver might have a chance to win a race.

I sure a lot cheered when Dale sr. hit the wall to. But those same people wish now they hadn't. There is a big chance when anyone hts a wall.:(

I cant say I jumped up,and down. But I was happy that his blocking backfired on him.I did not want to see the man dead though, and would like to believe no one else did.May God rest his soul.:(

I'll admit it. When he hit, I sure didn't cry. When I heard of his fate, it saddened me deeply. I have my own opinions as to whether he would have met the same end had he been all the way in the gas or not. In defference to his fans, his memory, and his legacy I will not open that particular can of worms. Not now, not ever.

Dale was my fav race car driver and my hero and when ppl talk bad about him and her that damn wall joke i go off on them.
