Final Two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Events Cancelled at Rome and Dixie Due to Passing of Mike Swims

CORONA, CA (October 3, 2007) - The final two points races of the 2007 racing season for the Lucas Oil Late Dirt Series that were scheduled for October 5th at Rome International Speedway in Rome, GA and the 18th Annual "Dixie Shootout" at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA that was scheduled for October 6th have both been cancelled.

The events were cancelled due to the passing of Rome and Dixie VP and General Manager Mike Swims on September 28th. Mike was also a consultant to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series the last three years.

"We want to thank all the fans and drivers who have shown their support to the Swims family during their time of need." said Lucas Oil Series Director, Ritchie Lewis. "They have had so much to deal with in the last week that it is impossible for them to prepare for any racing at Rome and Dixie this weekend," stated Lewis. "We at the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continue to send our thoughts and prayers to the Swims Family and with the help of God they will gain the strength to get through this difficult period in their lives."
