Andretti & Stewart Talk

After Tony Stewart publicly blamed John Andretti for causing two on-track incidents during practice at Daytona last week, he sought out Andretti for some one-on-one conversation at Rockingham.

The two sat on the pit wall and talked for several minutes, but Andretti said afterward that he's still upset with the way Stewart acted at Daytona.

"He came up and talked to me," Andretti said. "He was talking about what made him mad, and I disagreed with him."

Andretti said he was mostly mad that Stewart made derogatory comments in public before having a private discussion. And he thinks any apology should have been as public as the criticism.

"I'm still really disappointed in how he handled it," he said. "Everybody can say, 'Well that's Tony,' but when I have a family and kids that are old enough to understand, it's not good enough to come up and talk to me on pit wall."

I guess I gotta agree with John on this one. Tony was steamed when he made his comments.......that's understandable. But there's been plenty of time to cool off and an apology is in order........a public one since the derogatory comments were public.

Which of the 95 times that Stewart made the comments was he steamed?

Stewart just kept pounding the heck out of this at Daytona. It wasn't a single comment or single interview. He kept pounding it over and over again in interview after interview.

Everyone knows Tony is a brat!! :D Only problem is he's also one heck of a driver.........makes it hard completely turn on him. I know what you are saying about Tony's hammering John every time a mic was placed in front of him. It was getting old.........and it's getting older still. Time for Stewart to grab the next mic he sees and offer up a warm, from the heart apology to John. :)

Tony is an immature punk. Winning a Championship hasn't changed that fact. I doubt anything ever will.

Tony is one hell of a driver. In my mind Tony is one of the top 2 or 3 most talented driver's in the series.

People will continue to get upset with what he says, but it won't change anything. In Tony's mind what he has always done has been successful, so "why change?".

Every sport needs someone to dislike as much as they need fan favorites.

I'm a Tony fan, but really do wish he'd publicly apologize to John. I do feel if you make the comments in public you should make the apology public also. No matter, I am a Tony fan and will continue to be one.

As well you should be

Sometimes Jeff Gordon does some things I sure wish he hadn't, but he is still my driver.
