Android phones?

I'm looking at getting an Android phone for web development purposes. Need some suggestions since my last experience with an Android device was less than stellar.

I'm looking at older phones. Don't need a top of the line phone - in fact, I might get an iPhone and buy a separate used Android phone to use just on WiFi. Just need one since I'm back in the web development business (sigh).

My cheap old Boost mobile Moto G works pretty perfectly.

I have been faithful to the Samsung Note line for a couple years which I love, but maybe a older Nexus would provide you a cleaner Android experience. LG has some good ones too that can be found at a good price on Ebay.
