According to Nascar.com Andy Petree has secured an unnamed sponsor for the 55 car for the Daytona 500 and will announce the name after the New Year.

If it's just a one race deal, wonder who he'll get to drive?
Maybe Bobby H again?

Here's a guy who has put a lot into the sport and is about to lose it all. The mega teams like Hendrick, Roush, Penske DEI, RCR, Yates, Ganassi, and Everynham will eventually run the whole circuit. Maybe even a few of those owners will be forced out of the game and it could end up looking like NASCAR with Smith going up against the France family. I really hate to see that and wish it would go back to a maximum of two teams per owner, with the loop holes filled. Ah but that's progress for you.

I just had a thought.........TRAC!!:) It does look like NASCAR is going to the dogs..........though, I tend to think this will pass once the "fad" created by all the recent hype for NASCAR passes. Wonder if any of these owners, teams and drivers might migrate over to Cale Yarbouro (I know that's not spelled right!! ) and help boost that series into something in 2004! I little competition never hurts for the fans!!:)

DEW, that would be a good idea, except that you have to remember that NASCAR is owned by the France family, and they are totally against TRAC. Smitty, on the other hand would welcome the series to his tracks, but he's already got a toe hold in NASCAR. I'm afraid that if TRAC is going to bring on board any of the present owners, drivers or crew, it will have to be a success first.

And Andy Petree isn't a success?

Who says they have to race on ISC tracks? Besides, believe me, if there is money to be made the tracks will stand up to the Frances!!:)

Maybe Ken Schrader should have thought twice before he went over to team BAM...

I think Kenny did think twice rpm...........a one race deal is not the most secure of rides!! Though, I doubt BAM is much better, it is the lesser of two evils.:D

We will see, maybe Team BAM will turn in the right direction this year under the guidance of Ken Schrader. With their awful season last year combined with Ken Schrader's awful season last year, maybe they will actually stumble across some good.

I guess I'm the only one here that thinks nothing positive is going to come from this partnership.
