GM driver showcase features next generation Earnhardt
Among the young drivers participating in the final stage of the three-stage GM Racing Development Driver Evaluation Program this week at Nashville Superspeedway is one with famous racing lineage.
Jeffrey Earnhardt, 17, son of Kerry Earnhardt and grandson of Dale Earnhardt, is one of 16 drivers showcasing his talent before representatives of Chevrolet teams in the Nextel Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck series.
The first stage was September 12-13 at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C., and showcased the drivers in Busch Series cars. Stage II of the program - consisting of three different dirt-track late-model cars - was September 19-20 at Dale McDowell Dirt School at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth.
The GM Racing Development Driver Evaluation Program was designed to provide opportunities for drivers and teams to connect if an opening exists in a team's driver roster.
I wish him the very best!
